My daughter loves the camp at the Y! They are active all day, have fun, swim daily too and the field trips are fun, different and educational. The perfect summer experience

My son enjoys his time there. He has asked to stay later. Hanging with friends and trips!

Even on the hottest days, the counselors were ready with appropriate activities for the campers.

This was my first time having my 8yr old son attend the YMCA. He had such a blast he can’t wait to continue to attend summer camp at the YMCA!

I think the summer camp can communicate better with the campers parents.

Kids did not look forward to attending, poor communications compared to other camps, limited facilities.

Sharing Bridgewater Camp Timber with Somerville making it extra crowded and uncomfortable for the whole summer was a huge disappointment. When it rained (thunder/lightening), kids were stuck under the pavilion getting splashed because Somerville kids were inside squished in tiny room or balcony over pool. We had no time to consider alternatives when this was announced (the Friday before summer camp started)--highly unprofessional. Kids were forced to stay outside without easy access to water/hydration--dangerous when it's over 100 degrees. Lastly, kids were looking forward to putting on the talent show, some even bringing in instruments, when it was canceled same day with no explanation. I was very disappointed in how things were run this year. I'd have a hard time considering sending my kids there next year. I carpooled with other families and know my sentiments are shared with them.

That they keep the kids active the entire time at camp

After loving it for a few years, my daughter stopped enjoying the camp. She said the activities were repetitive and she did not like being outside all day as the temperatures are regularly in the high 80's-90's these days. She loves the field trips though and never misses one.

The Wednesday field trips should be available for all campers if you're going to have them. To limit to 35 kids when there are over 90 kids doesn't seem right. If staffing is the issue, then take more staff from camp that oversee the kids at the camp and allow them to also go on the field trip. Promoting the fun experience so much on updates and through the app when over 50% of kids can't go due to registration limitations, is upsetting and should be handled differently.

Everything is great. Just wish there was a way to have communication with counselors when needed.

This year's counselors have been unprofessional and rude, to both campers and parents.

The field trips are great and the perfect way to break up the week. Pizza Fridays make lunch easy for me one day a week. My kid loves the program. She has made great friends and connections with counselors.

Possibly offer cooling stations and outdoor refrigeration for campers lunch/snacks

Camp counselors and staff are wonderful. My children are thrilled to go to camp every morning. Thank you for providing a fun and safe environment.

The kids have a lot of differnt activities,my son loves that.

I love that the children are active and outside the majority of the day. Swim lessons are a huge reason why we choose the Y and field trips are a great bonus.

My daughter participated in only one week of camp, unfortunately it was the last week. The staff did not treat her well at all, annoyed she didn't know what to do. She was yelled at for not having the colored shirt for the trip - when she was never given one. She was told they wouldn't do a swim test on her bc it was the last week so she had to swim with the littlest kids and made her wear a life jacket. She's 10.5yo and was so embarrassed she left the pool crying.. and again was yelled at for that. My daughters personal review was “the counselors are all grumpy bullies and I never ever ever want to go back there".

The counselors were great. My son enjoys all the activities. This is our 2nd year at Camp Timber. This year was better in that there were fieldtrips that were more than just going to Kidstreet Park.

My kids love Camp Timber! The games are fun, swimming makes us happy, and the counselors do an excellent job of keep it fun and watching out for the kids.

Kids signed up as counselors in training and haven't learned a thing other than babysitting.

Great summer camp!

I liked the program, but I do wish they offered alittle more. However, I understand that the facility can only offer so much. I also felt communications were inconsistent. I think a lot of the reminders should have been within emails rather than the GroupMe App.

Our son started the summer cap just 2 weeks after we moved to US. He was barely speaking English, he had no friends at all and it was the first time he was in an non-native language speaking environment. But the first day, he came out of the camp with a full of joy and happiness. Mr. Brian that he keeps talking about all the time, has a key role since he asked questions to our son, wanted to learn how some words are told in our language etc. We would like to thank Mr. Brian a lot for this approach which helped our son to get used to the camp in the very first day. Going forward, he liked a lot the camp, other instructors, had even some friends. Overall we were very much pleased and grateful for the appreciation cards that helps to promote good habits. One comment might be about the Kids Street and Ice Cream Day. He attended once but walking the distance to the Kid Street with their bags and stuff under the sun was a tiring activity and eventually ice cream was not that appealing for him obviously so he did not want to join again. That didn't work in our case,

Staff was wonderful. Thank you for working so hard to make camp a safe and fun environment.

My 11 year old boy is a first time camper this year. He is from another school district so didn't know a soul. From the first 5 minutes of camp he felt like he belonged. When I picked up he said to me "I'm really good at making new friends". By the second day he asked me to sign him up for 2 additional weeks. He is a very happy camper!

It's my son's second year and he absolutely loves it. He's made so many friends and he always talks about the activities and games he plays each day.

My kids had a great time, got to be outdoors and active and meet new people. It's super convenient and relatively affordable. We will be coming back next year.

Friendly camp environment for the young campers. Great activities and my campers are always excited to go back week in week out.

I like that the children primarily spend their day outside and are engaged in games and activities. I love that swim lessons are included. My children both come home happy and sharing stories of their friends and counselors. They look forward to going to camp each day.

My son has an awesome time seeing his friends. The activities from swimming, camp games, gaga, crafts, brag tags to field trips. Wish it was the while month of August though.

We love YMCA Bridgewater! Camp Timber is always a summer favorite for our little dude. Once the school year is close to the end of the year he already starts asking if he's going to summer camp.

The staff, the program and more importantly my son loves it! I don't have to worry abt him not enjoying his day.

the CIT program doesn't seem to be well organized. Also the supposed to be free swim time, they were asked to help young kids..

The counselors seem to be well-trained. They are enthusiastic and energetic, even on the hottest or rainiest days. The camp director is knowledgeable, friendly, and responds to inquiries quickly.

We're returning for the fourth year. The counselors are great; positive attitudes and involved with the campers. Having archery is fantastic. I also love how inclusive and welcoming the Y is to ALL!

The counselors are great and the activities keep my child entertained all day long. He's made friends he looks forward to seeing each summer and I love that he stays active and off devices. The field trip activities, pizza days, and theme week activities give him something else to look forward to each each week!

The caring counselors and their flexibility

The opportunity for swim is huge. Watching my son build confidence and skills in the pool this summer was amazing. The counselors were friendly and knew my child by name, making him feel welcomed back week after week.

Our kids have made good friends and learned new things each summer they have attended Camp Timber. The staff have done a great job trying to make every camper feel included and taken the time to get to know the campers, and they still happily greet us even months or years after camp when we run into them in the grocery store or local ice cream parlor! Plus, our children have improved in their swimming skills and confidence in the water.

more plan activities

The facility needs to be updated. There should be an indoor or outdoor shaded basketball court. They should take walks to play tennis. There needs to be more for them to do than just hang out in blistering sun or be locked inside with nothing to do. An outdoor pool would be nice.

Counselors, CIS, good kids, enjoyable activities. Similar field trip activities as Somerville would be good as well.

Better covered seating for kids at the Bridgewater Y when the temperature is at its peak in 90's. Also the Someville Y has more activity options, whereas Bridgewater only has archery.
