Great place, parking hard and expensive
I swim regularly and the pool is great.
Has something for everyone. Staff is always there to help you
Friendly place. My wife and I much enjoy the water arthritis class with Pat Wolfe. She is spectacular. And I have gotten back into swimming laps thanks to her. The lifeguards are always very helpful.
No parking
Very affordable and great sense of community
So I don’t like having to sign up on your apps for everyday classes. It puts me off exercising. I could easily spend the money I donate to the Y on a personal gym and trainer. Your gym at the w street Y is filthy and the weight equipment is old, however your teachers and students create a warm atmosphere.
My biggest problem signing up with the app is that it is not user friendly. Also my husband doesn’t like to have to sign up using technology. Finally other than for the reformer class or other classes where machines are involved, I can’t really see a reason for sign up's other than tracking people and sending countless emails.
Have a way for members to submit comments/concerns to managers (several of the stationary bikes need repair -- can't increase the resistance), have trainers or someone available to show me how to use different the equipment without my having to buy training sessions. Have adult water aerobics (or similar) classes in the pool.
Great value for a senior, convenient for me, facilities mostly good
I liked that the weight machines are new and very smooth to operate. I’m excited about the outdoor lap pool. Also the air conditioning is very good! Only the parking is a problem.
Although I think the facility is wonderful, the lack of parking prevents me from using the facility on a daily basis. The street parking adds up! Also, I like group classes and there just isn’t the variety like at the Superior location. I imagine the lack of classes is due to lower volume, and lower volume is due to lack of parking
I like the Pilates class and equipment
Why does the warmup and kettlebell area get closed during group classes? Also it’s weirdly quiet in the gym, could you play music? I’d recommend the Y for the price and location
Very nice staff. Clean. Well maintained.
I took Pilates Reformer classes previously and a mat Pilates class last week wit Stefanie Fricano and she is a very knowledgeable instructor. The place is pretty clean also and well equiped.
I use this facility once a week on average - 7 AM class. At that time the parking is great - I would hesitate to go there any other time. Taking light rail could be an option but not being a person who has used light rail in years - i would hesitate to start that at this time in my life. Maybe the Y should promote that somehow.
The bathroom situation in this facility is bizarre. Sharred - what - so you go in and lock the door making 4 stalls unavailable to others. Go to the T Bar and see how that is configured - yea money needed to improve that one.
Swam here twice and love the pool - ladies locker room is on the second floor up a bunch of stairs dripping all the way - do not know how you would ever improve this situation unless somehow you could convert the joint area into maybe smaller private space for swimmers - upstairs for the sweaty work out folks.
Close to my residence. Friendly staff and I love the diversity of activities. Love the facility!
Friendly and informative staff.
Nice facility with good people
A doorway between the weight rooms would be a good addition to avoid almost running into someone in the hallway. A Cable Crossover Machine would also be nice as there is only one set of cables to do something like cable flys and someone is often already using one or both of those cables.
The neighborly camaraderie and the group fitness classes. ...and it's so accessible, less than a 10 minute walk.
The price is reasonable and there is a wide variety of classes available.
nd
very clean, spacious, beautiful. The only problem, and it is a major one, is PARKING
No ab crunch machines. Few classes that are free.
I love the extended hours that the pool is available. That should be the norm rather than the seasonal exception.
The gym, bathrooms, spa area are dirty.
This is a very crowded and obsolete facility
It’s just not convenient and the membership fee at the central branch is less expensive.
The cardio equipment is amazing.
The only reason I am not 10 is because, for a lot of people, the parking situation doesn't work.
I really like this gym and go to two excellent classes but the parking is an issue
Also most of the classes seem to cost extra which is frustrating. I travel a lot and would miss some of the classes and don’t want to pay for those I miss. It would be better to pay for passes that could be used for any class if the YMCA needs this type of class.
The other gyms I have belonged to rarely would have classes that cost extra.
It would be great if you didn't close at 8 pm, but stayed open until 9 pm. Also, is there a way to subsidize parking?
Keep the pool open at lunch time year round. Add more secure bike parking since street parking is $$$
Convenient downtown location with lots of amenities and a great staff. But I want to see the women’s spa/sauna reopened ASAP. Please!!!
I wish the weight room was one big room as shown on the google search online vs spread across 3 rooms.
Longer Hours on the weekend would be great too, even until 4pm vs. 5pm
I have already answered this survey and I have received this email two times since I answered it. There should be a way to filter out people who have responded.
Tuesday's do not have any classes I am interested in taking. I miss the Bands and Bells class and would like to see a class like that on Tuesday morning.
Not sure how parking works maybe it’s just street parking. 8 instead of 10 because of the price but at least it’s for a good cause!
Fix the jets in the whirlpool and fix steam room
Please open the woman’s spa, for women only.
Primarily I enjoy the outdoor lap pool
Nice equipment, but there aren’t many exercise classes. The mat Pilates class that I was going to on Wednesday’s is no longer on the schedule with no notice and after having several classes canceled after it was supposed to start.
I take light rail, so it’s not an issue for me, but I’ve heard many people complain about the paid parking. I would see that as a turnoff for many people.
Love the pool. Temperature is consists t,
Wish it was open longer but love it and appreciate the Lifeguard and constant upkeep.
The requirement to pay for parking makes attending classes challenging. Light Rail is not an option, I'd have to drive to a light rail location to ride the train, and back again. If this was a night time journey, not only is it a longer cumbersome commute, but it is also not safe. Please petition the city for 2 hour signed parking. The women's spa has been broken almost since the club opened. The existing spa is not a comfortable space for women. The spa area often smells, sometimes like urrine, sometimes like body odor, and most often like an unpleasant disinfectant.
I like the pool and find staff like Michael, Iris and Hans friendly and welcoming.
I really like the location, the machines, the free classes offered, and the sauna. I do think that it is a shame that at the Capitol and 8th location there are two saunas; however, only one is in use. For the women who might feel uncomfortable sharing a sauna with other men, the option presented presently excludes them. Thank you
Qualified, helpful, and polite staff, excellent and clean showers, locker rooms, excellent and clean swimming pool weight room, basketball court, and equipment room with clean and well maintained equipment.
Well qualified and polite staff: Excellent and clean facilities ie weight room, swimming pool, locker rooms, handball courts, showers and restrooms, excellent and and clean equipment room with clean and well maintained exercise machines.
Parking is a problem
