What a great facility, super friendly staff, but there are 2 things that could be improved. #1. With only 3 lanes to swim, why is a lane given away to water exercise when the round pool could be used. #2 The showers, two are out of order and water pressure is only good on 2 of the 8 showers.

Add more class times earlier in the morning

Staff is friendly and helpful when needed. The facility is clean. Customers are respectful when sharing spaces.

The Lakin YMCA is a very nice facility. I would love to see some fans in the cardio area! My "home" YMCA is the downtown Y so visting the Lakin facility is a huge upgrade. You even give your members the bigger towels. The downtown Y gives us little square towels.

I swim at Kirn pool. Life guard is on time... Wonderful

The whole facility is nice, clean, we'll maintained. The cardio and free weights have ample room no matter the time of day. The only thing lacking is the lack luster pool. The therapy pool is only CHI and there arent any options for heated water.

The price is very high compared to other gyms in the area. I get that there are classes and instructors so the price should be slightly higher than a gym like Planet Fitness, but that’s a real hard sell to people who are struggling to find enough money for groceries. Also, many things are broken and remain broken: fans that haven’t worked since I joined three months ago, bike seats that won’t adjust, etc. But the people and sense of community are a huge draw that I can afford at this moment.

Overall the facility, staff and class offerings are great. I am increasingly frustrated when I drive to the Y (25 miles) only to discover my class was cancelled last minute. I use the app to check on this but have been caught in this situation multiple times. The front desk, although kind and friendly, have no clue about class cancellations.

I like the weight room and I would like to use the sauna. However the sauna is way to small and I don't like that it is coed. Can you make a women's only sauna?

Afternoon availability of the pool for water walking and laps. Also, without knowing for sure, water temps seem cooler after the service/repair last week. ???

The best support system around!

The locker rooms are disgustingly dirty. Flies in the showers, sinks not cleaned, floors are not swept or mopped. The pool has a smell. The pool water is green and needs to be filtered. The sauna smells.

There needs to be more open swim and the youth activity room should allow parents with children of any age

Could deep clean more often. Maybe there is a way to move people around the weight machines instead of using them to keep up on their email. No phone usage while on the machines.

It would be nice for seniors who would like to use the pool, to have better open swim hours.

Price and dedication of the volunteer coaches

Every thing. They work as a team. Wish they had a 3rd grade team so he could play next year also

The staff is always available to assist with questions and we have options as to which classes we can participate.

Friendly staff, friendly patrons, feels like a community. I drive out of my way for that and the sauna & pool hours.

That said, the showers could use some better water pressure/shower heads, and there's been an increase in the flys.

It is a really nice facility and I especially liked the hours for the pool access - it was nearly all day on Monday!

The swim instructors are absolutely amazing.
This is why I give a high rating. However, signing up for classes can be challenging. When questions are forwarded to aquatic management it takes several days for replies to voicemails or emails if any response at all. Other families have voiced frustrations about the lack replies also.

Great facility with many areas for exercise. Would love to see updated Expresso video bikes.

I ve recommended the Y to a few people already. I like it alot except the pool is sad. I love swimming🤣.

We have such good Professional Instructors who are friendly and knowledgeable with information to suite anyone, any age and with disabilities or not.
A healthy environment with many different types of activities to choose from. Come enjoy the fun 🤩

Child watch is a huge factor. The kids are safe and fun. And clean facilities, all the equipment you would want.

Bathrooms are regularly neglected. There needs to be a way for the work to be checked by management, done better or done more frequently.

Childcare is a nice perk. It’s the number one reason why we joined. Our kids usually watch tv instead of being taken outside or to the basketball court for some movement. That would be awesome if that could be incorporated.

Too crowded. Except for Kim, no one greets you at the front desk. Kim’s great! No staff on second floor to help out.

It is a comfortable place to workout

Love the large pool area, the indoor running track, and every piece of workout equipment that you could imagine. The staff was helpful and friendly as well.
