It very clean and friendly...lots of classes but I have not done yet
I enjoy aquafit 3 times a week!
I live the space and the people are amazing
The front desk staff are all very welcoming and extremely helpful. It feels when we come in that it matters we are there. There is a relaxed but focused energy in the building.
I've spoken with staff about obtaining a rope that could be used to pull the weighted sled, and I know there is consideration being given to how best that might happen. Thank you for that. This would be the final piece of equipment needed for the Y gym to say they have everything required for anyone who is training for a HYROX event. Perhaps there is a marketing advantage in that?
One other thought: When the turf area is being used for sled, wall balls, lunges, TRXs, or other activity, there isn't much room for those who like to use the area to stretch. The reverse is true as well. I think moving the rowing ergs out with the bikes helps to free up a bit of space. Helping people be aware of the multiple uses of that area would likely make a difference too. There's space for everyone.
Happy to be a new member!

I like the Y but there are some problems. The cost is one. There are too many equipment break downs and too little communication to the members. The pool could be cleaner. Showers are much better now. The people are friendly and pleasant and I love my aquafit.
The staff are all very friendly, especially Anita who recognizes us every time we come back to Chatham for a visit. There is also a guy with a big head of hair (sorry, that's my best description) who also recognizes us and is very friendly and welcoming.
The structure, oraganization, equipments, environment. All deserve 100%.
I go to the water exercises. The water is perfect, the teachers are excellent., and ON TIME Facilities are clean. They also provide a swim suit dryer!
Reception is friendly and welcoming. I always recommend the YMCA to anyone I have interacted with.
The professional, kind and friendly staff are top notch 👌 We can't ask for better help. The facility is clean, well laid out and easy to navigate. The programs available are wonderful because of the range of age and level of fitness.
Chatham location weekend hours are too short, towels are not long enough
Life guard that just got off injury is very rude to me and my son pool times for the kids could be more
I use the equipment upstairs--an occasnional appaerence of a coach would be appreiaated.
Very nice place super friendly
Sometimes it would be nice to have some of the classes held during the daytime appear in the nighttime as well. Such as chairfit class. Or offer the chairfit class on another day of the week.
The CK YMCA is a family friendly facility that encourages positive growth through a variety of resources and programming. The staff are always welcoming, supportive, and helpful within a comfortable environment, where "everyone belongs."
Love so many options to choose from. Aquafit groups are so friendly.
One suggestion…why aren’t the blinds in the workout area kept down to keep the hot sun out in the summer?
Friendly staff, clean environment, good equipment.
Staff and members talk to and help one another. A friendly place.
I like how engaged my children are in the activities. This is our first registered program for my youngest child and I really enjoy watching him smile when in swim lessons and floor hockey
I always enjoy my time at the Y and have made life long friends.
Why send out these surveys...nothing changes...responses from sauna guys
It is a clean, friendly, pleasant, well run facility with good equipment.
Love it very friendly just wish it was more affordable
Your hours of operation for the pool
It is expensive
The staff at the Chatham-Kent location are very friendly and attentive. Our YMCA is very clean and comfortable. Also having so many choices of equipment and well maintained. Thank you YMCA Team you rock!
Best gym and people I have encountered. The place is very clean as well as offers multi categories of fitness from weight training, swimming, classes, much much more
To have a water aerobic membership only available for those of us that only use pool only …..
I have enjoyed my time there and have already recommended a friend to join. The staff are all friendly and helpful, it's a wonderful way to start my day.
Membership to use the gym only should cost less when compared to similar gym memberships.
I like the aqua-fitness class and the chair-fit, zumba and Yoga classes as well.
Well, it's been a good experience so far - nice space, clean facility, friendly people, and lots to do.
A machine is always available
First staff and activities for my child
Absolutely love all the staff. Nicole goes above and beyond for parents and is very patient with all of the children.
Clean well staffed
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Pool is never open and when it is some coach always reserves it for kids swimming, I went the other day open/lane swim was from 4-8 and nobody could use the pool the coach pushed people out of the area so the kids could swim but this was not listed on the site or on a board in advance telling members the pool was not available. We pay a lot of money bi weekly and to not be able to use one of the biggest features weekly is frustrating at times, considering one of the main reasons I switched gyms was due to the pool at the Y. Also the soap dispensers in the shower are empty several times per week.
It’s a positive environment. Friendly staff from instructors to custodial and all those in between. Great opportunity to meet new people. A variety of classes are offered which for me is important. The cost of membership is a source of concern. Perhaps considering incentives like a pool only membership or if you have been a member for 20 plus years an added discount is offered. Also, putting membership on hold is sometimes confusing. For example if I want to put membership on hold in two weeks, I may not be able to use the facility up to that time because of whe. I started the membership. I could pay a fee of $15 to go to one class-but that’s expensive for a senior on a fixed income. Perhaps considering reducing that rate for members who still want to exercise up to the time membership is out on hold. Just a few thoughts.
Freedom to work at my pace
I find the YMCA to be a very welcoming place for my son and I.
The staff is very friendly and always ready to help.
The facilities are clean and well kept.
Classes are great!
I would like to give a10 but I am very disappointed with the upkeep of the pool area. The deck is in need of a proper cleaning to remove the mold, the caulking in the shower stalls is disgusting, and the tiles. around the pool itself are in need of a proper cleaning. Corner posts of the glassed in area are rusted and plaster is peeling off.
Every time we are in the pool for aqua fitness, several employees walk through the pool area with their outdoor shoes on. I have paid my fees for years - all during Covid for example and have not stopped when we are away on vacation. Surely some of these issues can be addressed instead of being left to just get beyond the point of regular maintenance.
Friendly staff good programs
would be a 10 if the pool and air temperature were consistant. Even the change rooms are too cool when entering from the pool deck.
Not impressed on April 13 for the 9:00am aquafit class. Our regular volunteer instructor was a no show so Sandy came in at 9:05, told us she could only stay till 9:26. Had to go and teach another class. So our 45 minute class was turned into a 20 minute class. Yes I should be happy we had an instructor for that 20 minutes. We are the members that pay the most for our membership. But I feel we don't matter. This isn't the first time this has happen, and probably won't be the last
Make sure there is always an instructor for aquafit classes. Pool users are forced to pay the highest membership fee and should be considered priority.
The pool.
Always inclusive.
Clean friendly
