Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Staff provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can grow, learn amd have fun.

The East Orange YMCA afterschool program has been amazing. I like that they do different activities with the children on top of helping out with their homework. The staff has been great. They are very kind, knowledgeable and it shows that they care. When I pick up my daughter from the program she always gets upsets because she wants to stay longer. I am happy to know that she is enjoying herself in their care

I love how the workers cared about the children, and my daughter (Gloria)always had a good time. Which put my mind at ease while at work.

I've had a wonderful experience with the YMCA aftercare program for my child. The staff is caring, attentive, and truly makes an effort to get to know each child individually. It gives me peace of mind knowing our child is in a safe, structured, and positive environment after school. The daily activities are engaging and well-balanced — from homework help to creative play and outdoor time. My son always comes home happy, sometimes even disappointed that the day is over! I've also noticed improvements in their social skills and confidence, which I credit in part to the supportive atmosphere at YMCA. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and enriching space. I highly recommend this program to any parent looking for reliable and high-quality after-school care.

Poor staff allowing for environment for bullying, no management support, difficult for parents to reach leadership, no reply, poor follow up to issues. Terrible communication. My daughter cheered today when I told her this was her last week of after school at the East Orange YMCA.

Just the communication

I have been able to have full communication with the workers at the YMCA . They have helped me with setting up my account and making sure that my family and I are happy. I appreciate their help with my daughter as a single mom I have to work and they take great care of her in my absence. Thank you EO YMCA

My kids home work are always done on time and my kids told me their teachers are very friendly.

Very friendly staff. They really seem like they care about the kids. I'm looking forward to the summer camp!

The ymca have a great team!I want to say thank you for all you guys help.

You need to do better with what you're billing people. I don't understand a week the Student went to after care for 2 days and you still charge full price plus a late fee : while for other schools in other districts you charged per day for them. While for Dionne Warwick you charged the whole week . That's not fair and it's not right.

I like the fact my son makes a lot of friends, the counselors really support the kids and help them with homework and anything else the kids need help with.

My child loves going to the Y for the activities, and I love having peace of mind about the care we receives

My son goes to the afterschool program at Forest Street and he reported to me this morning that one of the after school attendants isn't very nice. He says she's always yelling and he gets in trouble whenever he tries to check in with me after school. She also makes everyone put their heads down on the table when the younger children make noise and they don't know any better. He said "It wasn't Ms Debbie and it's wasn't the young dark skinned lady." I will get more of the story after pick up. But it's disheartening to hear him say these things because as a single parent, I need a reliable after school program. But I can't keep my child somewhere he's emotionally unhappy. I hope things can get resolved. Thank you.

Communication while having our kids, and not just about the child had a pee accident. They need to send videos and pictures to see how our kids are doing while in your care.

I feel the children are safe at YMCA

I like everything! The staff are very attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. My daughter had a blast at the Y vacation camp. On Day 1 of pick up she had made new friends and did not want to leave. The facility is clean and safe. I appreciate that each day of camp has a specific theme and structured schedule to ensure the children are having fun and also learning. We are looking forward to the next camp day!

My son told me that the teachers were yelling at them and make them seat doing nothing. Most of the kids were on their phone. They watched videos and played videos games, he could have done that at home… Only + was food and a sort of "cooking" thing. I am super disappointed and will never put my son here again.

They are amazing!

The staff at the aftercare are unorganized . I don't like the fact that the kids don't start homework while they are there. I have to wait for a very long time for them to bring the kids downstairs everyday. The only reason I use this program is because there is no other program and I have to work l. If I find another option I would go elsewhere
