I had 2 daughters there for Discovery week. They really liked certain daily activities but they were only offered once or maybe twice. Allowing them to do more activities that they enjoyed would make their feedback way more positive.
My boys had a great time as first-time sleepaway campers! They loved all of the activities, their counselors were great and they said the food was delicious. They are excited to return!
I liked the activities and the friends I met along the way
My daughter loved her week there this summer and last. Fantastic activities, great kids, fun counselors, gorgeous setting - what more could you want?! She loves that they get to choose their activities. Her overall report was that it's "SO fun." Thanks for running a stellar camp.
This was my daughter's 4th year attending but my boys' first time at BMDC. They had the most amazing time ever. One of my boys fished for the first time and learned that he absolutely loved it while the other explored in nature and loved it all so much that he cried after he got home on the last day because it was over. Even my almost 14 year old had a great time and wishes she was able to go back during the summer. The staff were amazing and easy to work with especially when it came to accommodations for medical concerns. Highly recommend to anyone interested in getting their kids out and about and not sitting around on electronics all summer. This was the real deal, outdoors in the wood experience that teaches kids about nature while creating friendships memories that will last for years to come. BMDC was a hit for this family and the kids cannot wait to go back next summer for even longer!
Great traditional camp vibes! Good Food, clean cabins, wonderful staff
We couldn’t be happier with our first sleepaway experience! Everyone was so kind, welcoming and supportive.
My son really enjoyed the camp. The counselors were fantastic. I think you will see Robert again next year!
Team, facilities, how beautiful, clean and well maintained the place was, all the amenities, food (everything was carefully prepped gluten-free for me & my son!!) and team!! We had an amazing weekend there! Cannot thank whole team enough!
Fairview Lake YMCA Camps offer a wide array of options for families, including recharge weekends for adults. Adults are able to enjoy the activities they like to do without boring the kids. This allows Adults to explore in unique ways, then model the experience of independence with the kids. What makes Fairview Lake YMCA Camp special is the amazing staff who are knowledgeable, friendly, kind leaders who plan and execute activity packed weekends.
Ability to try and learn new things, expand horizons, meet new people. The staff is excellent, caring and committed to positive participant experiences. Cabins are clean, comfortable and spacious, and the food is delicious and fresh. The weekends are very reasonably priced making the programs affordable for all. Bravo!
So much fun being big kids at camp! Great activities, amazing staff, delicious food too!
The people, workshops, and general atmosphere,
It was a fun weekend at a good price point. Lots of activities, opportunities, and learning.
Everyone was so kind, supportive and helpful. Really good food, varied experiences and classes - something for everyone. Third time abd this time I brought both sisters and a best friend .
Adult weekends are great way to unwind, relax, make new friends, gather with old friends and just get away from the hustle and bustle of life . I enjoy most of the programs offered AT WW. There is plenty to do . Maybe adding some new things to the weekend will make it more fun then it is already. Lol
Ymca has changed my sons life completely. Over the past few years of him going he has become more outgoing and has made some great memories he also learned how to swim and found his singing voice. For myself I am completely blown away of how family oriented and family supportive they are. We had run into hard times and instead of them turning us away they reached out and said how can we help you. They never made us feel like we were just another family joining camp. They made us feel like we were family and without judgment. I will forever be grateful to the ymca for being there for us in our time of need and allowing my son to continue to create wonderful memories at camp.
The location is beautiful. So much thought goes into making the events special. The activities are interactive--great memory makers. Love the events and recommend to all in the community.
Great program for women. Many choices of activities. Pretty decent meals. Caring staff
For the women's wellness weekend, I absolutely love the non-judgmental, friendly other people that come there. The staff cannot be matched as well as the food.
Great experience with great staff.
Staff are so friendly and activities are great
Always so much fun! The team does a great job of planning and handling all event logistics - from the welcome at the entrance to check in and the activities, everyone is so friendly.
The staff were wonderful and the whole program was fantastic, packed full of fun activities.
The events, staff and fellow campers create an environment of joy and trust. I always leave emotionally refreshed.
Great staff, great location, and great energy!
It was a great opportunity to connect with friends from camp and get excited for the upcoming summer session!
The event was fine but I felt like not enough kids from my daughter's camp session went. But I think it's a great idea to do this kind of thing.
I attend Womens Wellness Weekends and very much enjoy the environment, activities, peace and quiet, and escape from everyday life.
As a 66 year old former camper, counselor and art teacher, I love the getting back to basics vibe of being a part of a friendly and warm community. Sleeping in a cabin, enjoying activities that are timeless yet not a part of my everyday life and meeting new and interesting people are just a great recipe for joy in later years. That I get to do it with dear friends I love while making new and interesting acquaintances just adds to my consistent joy in attending camp.
The staff was wonderful-- they exuded joy in what they did. The accommodations were comfortable given that we were in bunks in the winter. Food was good. Nice variety of activities.
We had a great time. It was very cold this weekend. When out doors you kept moving. Time went quick. There was enough time indoors to warm up. The food was very good and I think the cabins were in very good shape and warm. Staff was kind, courteous and engaging.
I love how welcome my family is at camp!
It was a great event
Great Staff, Great experience!
We had an AMAZING experience at Fairview Lake New Year's Eve Family Camp!! Matt, Julie, Maya, Lia, Haley, and Brendan all did an amazing job and made it such a great experience for our 3 year old (and us)!
It was a really great experience both my son and husband had a blast from the time they started to end. Real fun time so many activities to do and learn! Such a blast!
It was super fun!!
My daughter always comes back feeling like it was a good use of her time. It's nice that she has a comfortable place to get away for a weekend to have fun and spend time being a kid (away from screens!).
Everything! The staff, the facilities, the food! Everything!
there was something to do all day long & not having cellular service
Well organized, good variety of activities, good price point for families, heated cabins with bathrooms. We've been 6 times with other families, recommend Fairview Lake to anyone who asks about it, and can't wait to register again!
We Loved that it was family oriented and seeing the Joy and freedom on all of the kids faces as they perused throughout the camp.
Great good, beautiful fall day.
I would like either assigned tables at mealtimes, or more tables in the dining room. Half of the dining room was closed off, so if that half were opened, there would be room for more tables. I didn't like having to get to the dining room 10 minutes before mealtime to claim a table for my group (8 people), otherwise members of my group would be scattered throughout the dining room, trying to find an available seat.
My daughter loves camp so much. When asked to pinpoint something specific-she can't. She loves the whole experience.
My child just completed her first week at Farm Camp. This was the first time that she was away from home and I feel very grateful to the staff and folks at Fairview Lake YMCA Camps for creating an environment that felt nourishing and nurturing for her, such that she seldom thought about missing home. She was thrilled with the Farm program and the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with the animals, due to the size of the program and proximity allowed to the animals. She also enjoyed having opportunities to explore other facilities/centers at the camp, which ensured she had a well-rounded summer camp experience. She felt at ease with the counselors and made meaningful connections with friends, so I am certain we will be returning for more songs, adventures and relationships next year.
My daughter had a fantastic time this year at Camp Tupelo, bonding with her cabin mates, trying out a variety of activities, and expressing her creativity and personality. I appreciate the camp leadership and staff working with us after a disappointing experience the prior summer, to make sure this time around she was in a program and cabin where she had a solid feeling of belonging among peers.
My son absolutely loved his time at camp. He always felt safe, cared for, and came home each day so happy. One of his favorite parts was getting to fish daily—it was such a highlight for him. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that we're so grateful for.
The beautiful nature and welcoming community
