My daughter had a great time with her friends, and it was nice that she could come home on the weekend.
My son had a very positive experience during his first time at sleep away camp. He had fun trying different activities and making new friends. The staff was responsive, personable, positive and professional.
My daughter is having a great time and doing lots of activities.
My daughter fainted one morning at camp and I was never notified. I found out days later by my daughter herself on a wknd stayover. My email to the onsite camp director concerning this were not answered until I fwded my email to an executive director. Executive director never replied to me or followed up directly. Onsite director called me and blamed camp nurse for not getting in touch. I found this lack of communication and break in protocol from all 3 employees a huge trust issue and will be reconsidering this camp in the future.
My son was not thrilled with the dorms—I believe they were under construction
I did want zev to get more pool time/instructional swim. I was disappointed that the staff didn't make him get in more.
Facilities are nice, Transportation provided is a plus. The International counselors make it very diverse. A Very responsive staff is key to assuaging parental anxiety! :-) Overall, kids come back happy and smiling!
I like that the director and nurse are so supportive and easy to get in touch with. I also love the campus.
My son went to both camps. He liked fairview lake better. Reasons were there was more to do, liked the counselors better, more choices/freedom at Fairview. Our only complaint with Fairview was that we expected the rustic cabins would at least be rescreened before campers arrived. He came home with many bug bites - not all from his cabin, I'm sure. But an inexpensive repair.... He does not want to go back to Lake in the Woods. The sleeping accommodations were hot and buggy although supposed to be air conditioned. Did not bond as well with the counselors. Not as many activities he liked. I think he missed swimming outdoors.
My daughter raved about her two weeks at Lake in the Woods. She had a variety of activities to choose from each day as well as a special evening activity that she looked forward to each night. The weekend break during the two week session was the perfect introduction to sleep away for our family. The experience certainly gave her greater confidence and a stronger sense of independence.
Max complained about a lot of rules due to a poorly behaved first cohort. Seemed to put a damper on his time there this summer. Still had fun!
very good, may come again
Great activities and counselors were attentive! The boys dorm was not as comfortable as the girls. They did not have AC until the final night, this made it hard for them to sleep comfortably, other than that they loved their experience!
My daughter had a fabulous first-time experience. The staff were all amazing. She even raved about the food!!!
Zylah Sotio had a great time. She enjoyed that different activities that she tried for the first time like archery and pottery. Her peers were very fun and she had a great roommate !
The staff was communicative and extremely reassuring. The registration process and first day of camp instructions were super easy to follow. My child had a blast and learned essential lessons he'll use along his life.
