The camp is run so well. The activities are so well thought out and my daughter loves the camp.

My daughter has been loving her Laurel Ridge experience for 4 years. When I picked her up the first year, she said I have to come back next year mommy. Now 15 and aged out, she said during pick up, I want to be a CIT next year (counselor in training). The friends and memories she makes seem to stay with her forever. In addition to the pure joy that I see from her I personally appreciate the 3 week technology detox she gets from being there. The team at Fairview have a good thing going.

Our daughter went to Fairview as a first time camper this summer and had so much fun she asked to stay for 2nd session. She had so much fun, met new people, was phone free, and outside for 6 weeks. We would highly recommend going to Fairview and have already signed up for next summer.

This was our first experience with any sleepaway camp. My 13 yo daughter had an amazing experience. All the staff we dealt with were amazing! She came home begging to go back next year!

The entire process of enrolling my child, to prepping them for camp, and drop off/pick up is typically seamless. This was my child’s 3rd year at Fairview Lake and they didn’t stop talking about it ALL year. Camp counselors, other campers, adults on site are so kind & caring.

The activities are classic, the counselors are loving and in touch with the kids’ feelings, the overall camp is so wholesome and positive

My 8 year old daughter had an incredible experience at Fairview Lake in Minisink this summer for 3 weeks. She had supportive and caring counselors and loved all of the activities. She raved about the food in the dining hall too! We have already recommended Fairview Lake to other families we know and will continue to do so throughout the year. Thank you all for giving my daughter another incredible summer. She wants to go even longer next summer!

My daughters always have a fantastic time and want to come back next year. I have no hesitation recommending the camp for younger kids. However as they get older (now 15 and 14) I notice that other issues are starting to crop up that give me some concern. This includes multiple kids who bring phones and other electronics. I don’t find that a problem perse, other than the fact that kids are aware there are no phones, and they are flagrantly flaunting the rules and not getting caught. There are multiple kids in second session who are texting kids now who went home at the end of first session. Kids are also sneaking out of their cabins at night as a matter of course. I’m also concerned about level of supervision between boys and girls who are dating each other at camp, and the maturity of some of the CITs compared to the older campers. The CITs also apparently sometimes sneak out at night. I recognize all of this comes up as a natural part of being a teenager, and dealing with these issues help my kids mature, but nevertheless they are concerns. Of all these concerns, I am most concerned about my girls being in a situation they’re not equipped to handle with a boy. We also know that we’ll have to address similar or related issues at home as they arise, and I truly appreciate that the leadership team was extremely responsive when I brought up these concerns while my kids were at camp. So bigger kids, different issues from when I used to wonder if the kids were homesick at camp! I’m not sure these issues can be addressed by the camp, given that they’re dealing with 100s of teenagers and teenagers frequently make poor decisions and do these things. But only as a suggestion, perhaps some communication to parents of older kids regarding the camp’s procedures and consequences in dealing with these types issues would be helpful.

My daughter loves this camp. It has been such a positive experience for her. She's made new friends and has tried so many new activities. I love that there are no cell phones allowed and the supportive attitude of the all the staff.

Our daughter said she had the best summer ever. I just wish the food options were better. Fresher fruit and veggie options.

My daughter had a fantastic time this year at Camp Tupelo, bonding with her cabin mates, trying out a variety of activities, and expressing her creativity and personality. I appreciate the camp leadership and staff working with us after a disappointing experience the prior summer, to make sure this time around she was in a program and cabin where she had a solid feeling of belonging among peers.

The camp is beautiful, well organized, great counselors, well maintained, great communication, clean cabins, a beautiful lake and lots and lots of activities that our son loves.

This camp is well-maintained and offers many programs to many different people. We love that it fosters acceptance, inclusiveness and team building. It has been a great experience for me and for my family.

Better ventilation in the cabins by installing ceiling fans. My kids get sick every year. It would be nice not to have a revolving door of Nurses. The kids would feel more comfortable sharing their issues with familiar faces. Laundry service needs to improve by not losing items that have been labeled. It happens every year.

My daughter had a fantastic time at Camp Minisink. It was her first time at a sleepaway camp and when we came to pick her up after two weeks, she didn't want to leave. She specifically loved the lake activities and gained so much confidence. The counselors were so supportive and nurturing, she'll definitely be back.

My son had an amazing experience so much so he asked to extend his stay. He loves the counselors and has made great friends. Once he leaves he is always counting down the days to the next summer at Fairview.

Overall they had a great camp experience. I just wish that when they were older there was an option for a 2 week camp, and I wish there weren't quite so many people from the South Orange/Maplewood area (not much you can do about that)!

Our girls continue to enjoy Laurel Ridge. One comment as the girls get older....we did hear about vaping and pot at the camp. The girls told us that the CIT counselors were smoking pot. Also heard one girl in one of their cabins was sneaking out repeatedly after lights out to meet up with a boy by the lake. This is a big concern to us -- I recognize that as our kids get older, these will be issues that come up, but I'd like to discuss at some point before we send the kids back.

Best decision I've made pertaining my child's well being.. He talked non stop about all of the activities and experiences he's had while at your camp

Fairview Lake is my daughter's happy place. She looks forward to going all year and is always sad to leave. From sun up to sun down she has a blast every day and couldn't love camp more. FVL gets a ten out of ten in our house!

Better and healthier food options including fresh fruit. New options for main meals besides burgers and chicken fingers. More camp merchandise for purchase.

The friendships and togetherness that's promoted.

My kids love FVL so much. They mostly love the counselors. I love how diverse it is, especially the counselors. Where else do you see young black teenagers in roles of leadership? It's really magical. The counselors are so great with the kids.

This truly was the best experience that we could have hoped for for our daughter. She was a first-time camper with some specific needs. Everyone we parents came in contact with was understanding, responsive and supportive. We briefly met some of her counselors too, and based on that and what she said, they were wonderful every step of the way. And despite her shyness, she made friends at camp. She attended for 2 weeks, but had we known in advance how much she would enjoy and thrive at camp, we would have signed up for more weeks! Thank you everyone!
