My wait time was very short. The staff and my barber/stylist engaged in great conversation while still staying focused on the task at hand. I had to cut all my hair off and she made me feel empowered and not embarrassed. She is a keeper! Thank you!

Shah was amazing

The barber made me uncomfortable throughout the haircut; it was a poor experience from start to finish. He didn’t show any warmth or welcome when I introduced myself, and didn’t give a meaningful consultation or recommendation on a cut that would keep the top of my hair roughly the length with the slides and back cleaned up. He wanted to know what # I wanted my sides, and I said I didn’t know but wanted his recommendation on a length that would look good. He didn’t give a recommendation (or even offer suggestions) and looked visibly exasperated that I didn’t know what # guard I wanted. He then trimmed the sides with various guard lengths and asked me to tell him when it looked good. I ended up saying okay after he tried two guards because the barber looked like he didn’t want to be there. The haircut only took about 15 minutes total. He asked me if my cut was okay, and I told him yes because I didn’t feel comfortable asking for adjustments. The cut itself looked okay—the sides and back could have been cleaner and my sides weren’t completely even. I would have liked my sides and back more blended higher up. I wasn’t offered a shoulder massage or given a hot lather neck shave (which is twice in a row now; this visit at Santa Monica and my prior visit at the Venice location). Overall, it was not a pleasant experience with the barber. This experience was particularly disappointing because the barber was a headliner and because I was using Floyd’s guarantee to give Floyd’s a second chance after a bad haircut in my last appointment.

Very professional and creative work

Haircut was rushed. Whole haircut was less than 15 minutes. I would not mind a fast haircut but there is clear evidence that this was a rush job. Sideburns are uneven and sideburn hairs missed. I do not have a keen enough eye to see if the sides or other sections are uneven but I suspect so. Stylist seemed disinteresed and barely asked for input. Unlikely to reccomend or return for anything more than a neck clean up.

See my other comments. If I returned, would likely seek another stylist, although several others tried have not impressed. Convenience of location to my home is main factor driving my patronage honestly.

My most recent experience paired me with a different hair stylist than I selected on the website. And the person who did my hair decided to take creative liberty without asking me. I did show her a picture of myself from my last haircut, and at the end she said her cut looked "better than the picture" which I disagree with. I also was called "girl" and "girlfriend" despite not being comfortable with it (as a visually gender non conforming person) and doing my best to show visible discomfort without being rude. I am grateful for the person I spoke to on the phone who was caring and understanding when I asked for a refund, however I have yet to receive said refund.

A little pricey but did a great job.

Left here today feeling horrible about my haircut. I booked for a full service--long hair cut with a wash and blowout--with any stylist. I guess that was my first mistake. The hairdresser called me back and asked how much I wanted off, I showed her roughly two inches to which she agreed and then she immediately began to go ahead with the cutting. She didn't ask about layers or bangs or anything. I had to mention that I booked for the wash and blowout dry as well which only then prompted her to begin the wash before my cut. Never have I ever left a haircut with the back of my shirt soaking wet. She had little regard for what she was doing during the wash and it became abundantly clear that her only prerogative was to get me out of the chair as fast as possible. Again, never have I ever had my entire hair cut be done standing up. I understand I'm a bit tall (5'7") and had long-ish hair, but this was just uncomfortable and seemed like poor technique. Once I sat back down I could finally see the amount she had cut off--WAY more than 2 inches. I felt frustrated at this point but figured I could deal with my hair being a bit shorter than expected if I was able to get the rest of style cut I wanted. I had to mention that I would like layers and some face framing long curtain bangs. She quickly made a few snips of my hair and then immediately began the blow drying process. She never cut face framing pieces, and the "layers" she cut were literally just chunks cut out of my hair. She then went to blow drying process my hair and the entire time she used a regular hairbrush--not a round brush. I found this incredibly odd and it left my hair looking frizzy and flat. She never asked me how I wanted my hair styled for the blowout either which was upsetting. I left there feeling so upset about the cut. The way in which she rushed my haircut was so frustrating and she truly had no regard for what I wanted. I'm truly pretty easy going for haircuts but this one left me feeling so upset about the experience and the final result of my hair.
