While the initial ordering process and communication with customer service were excellent, our experience at the Friar Tux location in Laguna Niguel, CA, was extremely disappointing.
My husband only needed a simple alteration to the sleeves of his suit jacket. During our appointment, we also returned a shirt we had purchased. An older female manager assisted us with the return and assured us that the sleeve alterations would be completed by the end of the day so we could pick up the suit for our event the following day.

After checking into our hotel, we called the store around 4:00 PM since we knew they would be closing soon. Customer service answered and attempted to reach the store but couldn't get anyone to answer. They told us we would receive a call as soon as the alterations were finished. We never received a call.

The next morning, I went to the store as soon as it opened. The employee who had helped us the previous day wasn't there, and I was informed that the alterations had never been completed. The associate assured me it would only take a short time and that he would have everything finished quickly.

While he did complete the alterations in about 25 minutes, the workmanship was unacceptable. The sleeves had clearly been poorly pressed and were already coming apart. The stitching inside the sleeves was loose, and when my husband put on the jacket, the sleeves were noticeably different lengths. During the event, the threads from the alterations unraveled and wrapped around my husband's wrist. He ultimately had to rip the stitching out just to remove the jacket.

We returned the suit the following day as instructed and were told that a manager would contact us to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, we have yet to receive a call or any resolution.

It's disappointing because the ordering process started out so well, but the lack of follow-through, poor quality of the alterations, and absence of communication after the fact completely overshadowed what had initially been a positive experience.

Very quick and easy

With help the suit was pretty easy to put on. It wasn't too heavy however, I really hope that they would say that's a little more friendly to people with disabilities.

The staff was very freindly and knowledgeable.

The only negative was how the pants for the the rest of the wedding party. Suspenders in the past were included. Now it is an upsell, should be included. I paid about 240 for the tux

It was great, super fast, staff was likable and everything fit and looked great.

Customer service was horrible. Workers didn’t seem happy or excited to be there or very helpful except for Kyle. Supposedly they didn’t have anything that fit my son as the guy kept putting him in adult sizes and he’s 8. In addition they kept saying we didn’t pay when I showed them my bank account and how it showed a negative with the amount taken out, the lady manager said it’s negative because you have no money! Not true! It’s negative because it took the funds out. I had to go in and show printed bank statements because they wouldn’t stop contacting us saying we didn’t pay. The only good thing is my husbands tux fit and he looked great.

I tried to use your website to upload measurements and it was impossible. After multiple attempts, I called and had an agent put them in. I have my suit measurements and provided them accordingly. I then was sent a suit that was a 42 r instead of a 46r… really?

Went smooth. Had wedding party measure and pick up suits at different locations and with problems!

Convenience and reliability

There was one person who helped us initially who was great but then they left the store. The rest of the employees where mediocre at best. I was never informed when my suit came in and had to call the store to ask if it had arrived. Only after I called asking about my suit did I receive a call telling me it was in, which I already knew since I had called. The person helping in the fitting kept trying to tell my wife, fiancé at the time how the pants should be basically arguing with a bride. He was correct for normal shoes but was wrong for boots which I was wearing. The final problem is that they cant alter any suits beyond changing pants length. The only reason I stayed is because they where the only store with the color I wanted, if another store had the same color I would have gone elsewhere. All in all it was a mediocre experience.

The staff was highly welcoming, professional and down to earth. They made recommendations and were more than willing to accommodate. 10/10 truly.

The tux was very comfortable. My fitting was online since I was coming to the event from out of town, so considering this the fit was acceptable.

I would suggest you recommend suspenders to older men and men who have a pronounced belly.

Did a good fitting my tux and Jacket. Did not wear the shoes. They fit too tight. I am a 4EEEE.

You didn't deliver my tux to the store as requested and I spoke to asst Mgr to have this done. Then I had to ride all the way to Anaheim to get my tux.

Exceptional service from the team!

I had a great experience, my tux fit perfect and I’m not an easy guy to fit. Very helpful staff.

I was fitted the day before in Laguna Niguel. I called the next afternoon & they said "sorry our warehouse computer crashed, it happens once a month. You can either drive to our warehouse 45 mins away or come in & we'll throw something together." So I ended up going to the store and they gave me pieces, but they didn't fit as well as expected. And I wasn't offered any reimbursement or compensation for the lack of having my suit there. I thought at least they should offer something, but I didn't have time to haggle with them.

The extra steps taken to ensure I had the correct fit was beyond expectations. The communication with the staff was more than I could have asked for.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive to my needs throughout the rental process.
