We're very happy to have our kids included in the Y's after-school tween program. The staff are all wonderful, and our kids feel included in the activities and enjoy going each day. thank you!

We have had a wonderful experience at the after school program held at Minoa Elementary.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Hours and location are super convenient. Wonderful to have an option for half-days and snow days.

Jared was fantastic - we were really sad to see him go. It's very nice that these programs are allowed on site. Wish there was a better deal or reduced pricing for those that only need an hour or so. Thank you.

Our son absolutely loves the program, Miss Shelby and the rest of the staff. He is very happy, learns, plays and we've seen how this is helping his social development.

The Afterschool program that the YMCA offers is wonderful for the children that are provided with an educational, fun and safe environment. Parents know their children are well cared for until they can pick them up. I would highly recommend the After School Program. I just wish there were more openings for students that are on waiting lists to get into this great program.

This is our first year with after care at the Hal Welsh East Area Family Y and we absolutely adore the staff that care after our son. We can shout the praises of this experience enough.

Shelby & her team at woodland are so warm and welcoming! She plans engaging activities for the kids each day as well as fun healthy after school snacks! I also love the family events that the team hosts!!!

Our child is struggling with SACC this year. It seems there are many instances where the kids can't go to the gym to play. I understand there is a rotating schedule for groups to go to the gym, but often times the kids don't make it to the gym for their time or for their full time. For example, I hear frequently that the kids will line up to go to the gym, and either in the SACC room or in the hallway kids will be talking too loudly, and the kids need to go back and sit down to 'reset' before they can go to the gym. The reason we like sending our kids to the Y is to be active, so it's disheartening to hear that some extra chattiness or line-behavior is keeping all of the kids in a group from playing. I've come in the room multiple times where counselors are scolding a group for being too loud as they're lined up. It feels very militant. And I struggle every day when I pick my child up when there are cars parked in front of the SACC room. It makes me extremely concerned for safety. The parents should be parking in parking spots, not leaving their cars running in front of the sidewalk where my child could get hit because they do not have a clear line of vision as they are trying to navigate the parking lot. Not to mention that I am assuming that is a fire lane that is frequently being taken up by parents at pickup time. We are hopeful things will become more fun for the kids, and that safety will be improved by the entrance door. I would like to see the energy of the kids celebrated and let them have time to play, not forced to stay in the room where, honestly, the smell is quite bothersome. We are grateful for the Y, but this has been a rough start to the year.

It's convenient my son loves it and as a single mom I wouldn't know what to do without it.

My daughter absolutely loves after school. The staff are friendly, compassionate and have lots of great activities for the kids.

We only participate in the AM care and it seems like all the fun themes and programming is only in the PM. I know there are time constraints in the morning and kids arriving at all times, but my kids are there almost all morning and just eat breakfast. Nothing else is planned and they share that it is not fun, there is mainly coloring that is the available activity. (there may be more they choose not to participate in, that is us taking a child's word for it.)

My children have been a part of the ymca family for over 10 years. I love the fact that I can always count on the staff to be dependable and reliable when an emergency presents itself. They are kind generous and loving. I could not have done the things I have done without there help thru out the years. I highly recommend the East ymca… they rock…./

My son really enjoyed the Y afterschool. He has autism and the employees of YMCA were more than accomodating. Shelby and Darren helped me so much along the way. I was sad to have him stop, but he was accepted into a therapy group after school.

I love the activities you do with them which the other Y doesn't do when my son went to after school at manlius. I also like to tween rec room. My sons allowed to also just hang out which the room is made for!

My Children love the staff. The hours are great for our needs. They provide fun activities for them and they offer full and half day needs as well.

Shelby is wonderful at woodland! She is calm and patient with the kids. Her and her team provide fun, engaging activities for the kids afterschool while providing a space for them to decompress after a long school day! She also posts lots of pictures in the remind app of their activities!

It's care I can count on so I'm able to work. I know he will have fun with his friends till I'm able to pick him up. Super thankful for this option as a single mom who has to work.

The staff at IC aftercare is wonderful!!!

My son goes in the morning and loves it ! They are kind , welcoming and have fun activities . He also loves when they cook sausage .. haha . My younger son goes to pre K at IC and uses the Y program there and we can't say enough about both programs . One of the staff members works at both sites and has brought stuff my son has forgotten to the other site knowing we would pick him up in the afternoon . Thanks for all you do.

We only participate in the AM care and for what we pay, there does not seem to be any 'programming' and breakfast is minimal. I would understand there may not be time for planned activities, but would hope for what we pay the kids could have more than a cereal bar or toast for breakfast. Staff does seem very friendly, just most of the planning seems to go into the after school portion of SACC.

We love Jared. He is amazing and my first grader has come out of his shell with him. Jared makes the program so fun and makes the connections students need.

The program is wonderful! My daughter loves it, every staff member I've encountered has been absolutely awesome, and it's easy to see that they care a lot about the kids in the program. I couldn't be happier!

The communication and organization of the children could be slightly better, but overall, it's great & my daughter loves it.

Josiah had so much fun. The teachers are wonderful with the kids, do such fun stuff and are great teachers also!

Erika and her team are just amazing! As a mom, it's a wonderful feeling to know your child is being cared for and I don't have to worry about her safety for a moment. Thank you for all you do!

When registration for the new year opens up u can offer it to current members first.

Hard to get a spot but once you do the program has been amazing and my son enjoys going.
