A lot of lockers do not work. Otherwise, good.
My family goes here for everything, arts and crafts, parents night, Halloween celebration, access and ability sports. This YMCA is my kids favorite. Thank you for always making their time there memorable. Last week there was someone playing the guitar for my daughter she was smiling and dancing when I picked her up. She always wants to stay, I look forward to her possibly going to PreK there.
We're a long time participant in the youth sports basketball and Brendan does a wonderful job running the leagues. The only complaint is the 7-9 year old kids had too many kids per coach. They needed to play 6 on 6 and sit out often as there were more than 12 kids on a team and only two coaches. And a lot of standing around with drills. The younger group had 4 coaches and worked out better. Overall we love the ymca sports, but will probably pass on the 7-9 year old group if it is the same set up as this past period.
The coaches are very good with the kids. They teach them to try the best.
Your new policies regarding you swim classes are punitive for the students who have been taking swim class. My daughter was told she was moving up to the next level in her class and was blocked from registering until the open sign up because of it and is now without a class because it was full at 830 when I went to sign her up. However if they would have let her stay in her current swim class she would have a spot. To take something away from a 4 year old because they are being forced to switch times and days because she has improved her swimming ( not our choice) sends a terrible message. I would not recommend any one join this Y if these policies keep up and am seriously considering cancelling my membership because of it
The Y offers many activities for youth and families.
Brendan does a great job, my only feedback from the latest session is it was too many kids. I think it would make sense to either cap it at 20 kids or use 2 courts and volunteer coaches if more than 20 sign up. The kids spent a lot of time sitting out
Everything is so clean and well managed from the weight rooms to the pool to the classrooms. Am I experience, all staff and employees have been extremely helpful and pleasant. There are many classes offered such as music, personal training, art classes and even mahjong! Join for a week and try it. You will end up joining.
Proximity to my home is excellent. I have two choices for exercise at either fayetteville or manlius facilities. Both are convenient to staying active
It is all about those willing to teach the participants!
My child had so much fun participating in the basketball league. His coaches this season were extremely hands on, worked with him on drills and were very encouraging! A huge improvement was noticed this season!
Swim lessons are now extra. Summer camp programs are high. Not much of a discount for member rates. Access and Ability program changes are not good. As a family with a disabled child, we don't feel supported there like we used to since the previous Access and Ability director (Laura) left.
Coaches just kinda packed in it in last 2 weeks which was disappointing. But they were very well liked by my kid
The sports times for kids don't work for us. 4pm on a weekday doesn't work for two working parents.
Friendliest, good staff, patrons are good…clean, expect need to fix the men's shower and wipe down steam room 3 or 4 times a week…good programming…very pricing is fair for the most part…program participation for non-members (kids) seem a little high, but with in reason…
We are new members but really enjoying the facility and staff so far. Daycare staff have been extremely nice.
The staff are amazing and Brandon goes above and beyond to help all the kids with their skills but at the same time make sure they are having fun.
My son enjoyed every moment of his sport classes. We love Hal Welsh YMCA
Coach B was excellent! He did a great job teaching fundamental skills to set the kids up for future sports. He was also great with navigating the age gaps and abilities. Our son loved the classes.
I was hoping they would teach skills like how to dribble.
We have found this is the best place for families to stay fit and have fun in the winter months!
Coach B has got to be one of the most patient people on this planet! Watching him try and teach my 3.5 year basketball is an incredible joy!
The basketball coaches were so kind to the children and made learning the skills very enjoyable. I think my boys learned a lot. Can't wait for next session.
Basketball league is excellent. Very impressed with the coaches who handle the kids expertly while getting quality instruction across. Really one of the best programs we participated in during our 15 years as members
