I love the pool exercise classes. So many different classes to pick from.
I enjoyed the Senior program about home health, assisted living, Foothill and the lawyer. All very timely for us taking care of my motherin-law.
Outstanding! Very informative and helpful.
It's a little difficult to do the exercises and get the machines we need, because it's crowded from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; perhaps change the time? (having it during dinner time may be a problem for some as well, esp. if you have small kids to feed.)Also, the cost is a problem. As soon as I told people that I was taking the class, they were very interested, until I mentioned the cost. Then it was "oh, no way." When our monthly fees keep going up, it's difficult for many folks to pay more. It's a shame, because I already see improvement in my ability to balance, and so many seniors need that core strength.
Alexa is great--she's had to modify everything for me (I have a lot of joint issues, and I'm old!) and she has really done an amazing job. I would love for more women to take advantage of her expertise and zeal in helping women grow stronger.
The YMCA is a great place friendly people and Pam is the best teacher we share working out and lots of laughter
No matter what age just keep moving
The team at the Y is legendary. Everyone is friendly and supportive I always feel welcomed. The facilities are immaculate
The program is well organized and led by knowledgeable and compassionate instructors, Pam and Quincy.
Relevant information and good presenters.
The inclusiveness, organization, attention to stragglers to make them more comfortable, enthusiasm
I would have liked to be given a bit more information on the upcoming content. I walked in not sure of what I was going to participate in. The facilitator was knowledgeable and very open to questions. Even now I’d like to see a continuation of a number of the 10 focus areas she unearthed for us. I will continue to attend the “Memory Cafes” and hope I will increase my knowledge, because I am looking forward to learning more.
too expensive to seniors
Not enough classes during the afternoon.
I am taking fitness classes with Pam, our instructor, three times/week. The exercises are tailored to the older adult who may not be working outside the home anymore and may not have the opportunity to move around and/or socialize with people like when they were younger. She is a terrific instructor who, aside from leading the exercises we do, is not averse to sharing her knowledge of health, fitness, exercise, nutrition and related subjects during class. The routines we do are set to music, and we have a lot of fun. I recommend her classes without reservation.
Excellent instructors, great exercise programs.
Excellent senior exercise program.
Clean, close by, friendly staff, nice exercise equipment, great Senior program
Varíete of programs
The YMCA eliminated a seniors program and charge single seniors more than any other age group. The Y doesn't care to accommodate or support seniors, even those who have been paying members for more than 1/4 century.
Informative and I appreciated the follow up email with the hand out exercises.
Recent change to Pam’s exercise classes on Tuesday & Thursday. As a senior I now have to pay $65 monthly for 8 classes.
How much does this really benefit the Y as compared to seniors taking eight extra classes a month?
Great instructor
You are not letting disabled seniors like myself, to use your pool on other days we are not in Pam’s exercise class
It is a great place to stay in shape physically and mentally. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the program.
Love the senior program but really disappointed that I can no longer take other classes on other days as long as I complete my 50 % requirement...not good
Nice staff, impressive programs. Community asset!
