The community & family feeling! Sad to be taking a break due to cost & finances but I hope I can return
Variety of classes, kind and welcoming staff
Clean place Friendly staff Great instructors
The studio feels like it is teetering on the precipice of failure. There are not enough teachers and not enough classes. Classes start late and are often chaotic. Many classes are practically empty and there's no evidence that the studio is doing anything to recruit new clients. The facility itself is often dirty, including the bathroom and the carpet in the studio area itself. None of the things that made Pure barre fun or special are happening anymore. No milestone celebrations, no fun social media posts, no themed classes, no seasonal socks, no bringing in outside vendors, no snacks/drinks. We have a wonderful community who is very invested in the success of this place, but everyone is worried and management is not doing enough to put down the rumors or inspire confidence that this is a functioning business. A longtime classmate recently said to me that every day she walks up to the studio expecting there to be a "closed permanently" sign on the door. This does not make people feel good about the studio and it's distracting from the experience. In addition, I often think that if I were a new client coming to the studio for the first time, I would never return. It's all very sad. Thank you for soliciting feedback.
Love the variety of workouts and the extremely friendly, helpful staff. So glad I joined!
I love the North Andover Pure Barre because the staff and instructors are so inviting and warm. The classes are varied and the instructors pay attention to your form and they want you to succeed in all the classes. I have met some really wonderful people in the Pure Barre community.
I have provided feedback in an email 9/14. No response. Dear Pure Barre Newton Team, I wanted to share some feedback after a recent class where I arrived about two minutes after the scheduled start time and found the studio door locked. I understand punctuality matters for class flow, but I'd like to raise two things: Safety concern: Locking the studio door during class raises a fire/life-safety question â in the event of an emergency, a locked door could delay someone getting in to help or getting out quickly. I'd ask that this practice be reviewed against any applicable fire code or occupancy requirements for the space. A little more flexibility for occasional lateness: Newton is not a rural area â this is a city location with real traffic congestion and school buses making frequent stops. On top of that, the studio doesn't provide its own parking, so members have to find street parking and pay the meter before walking in, which adds another couple of minutes that's outside anyone's control. Those minutes add up, and even leaving with plenty of buffer doesn't always account for a school bus stopped ahead, city streets being repaired without warning, or a line at the parking meter. This isn't a regular habit for me â it happens rarely and unplanned. I'd really appreciate a short grace period, or at least the ability to quietly slip in a couple of minutes late, rather than being locked out entirely. I value my membership and the studio experience, and wanted to raise this constructively so it can be considered going forward. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Alina Monisov
Super welcoming, the times available for classes are perfect, and the instructors are top notch in what they do, they're great at giving modifications and praising people.
Friendly and helpful staff, knowledgeable and positive/encouraging training staff. PB staff and others who work out with me are generally respectful and sociable.
I love the way it makes me feel Physically & mentally
Great instructors and vibe. I do Define and Classic at Wellesley. I can only do mornings. Mid week I'd love some classic classes to be replaced with an Empower, Reform or Align. Mix it up a bit from just taking classic ones. No change please to Define times/days and those classes, Define is the best!!!!!!!
The schedule is not ideal for working parents
Everything!! Love the staff, instructors, the classes and studio!
Classes are challenging.
Wonderful staff and instructors. Warm, friendly environment.
The instructors keep us moving and on track. Correct when needed and love the shout out when we do something well! Even though we only a have few minutes before class love the friendships i have made. The challenges really motivate me to do more classes. Love the gatherings we have to celebrate the finishers and special occasions. The theme days are also make it fun.
I had joined Pure Barre for over 8 years, and I look forward to every workout. I love the flexibility of the schedule and the positive energy I receive from the Teachers. They are knowledgeable, approachable and always will come over to you to make sure you are aligned properly. Over the years I've become stronger, more toned and flexible. The classes are more than just a workout for me. It's supportive team with a perfect combination of results and encouragement.
Great workout and fabulous instructors- The classes at Pure Barre are effective, challenging, rewarding, and have such a positive impact both physically and mentally. Forever grateful!
Very welcoming staff and attendees, great workouts that keep you actively engaged the whole time, some personal touches!
Pure Barre is the BEST! I started a little over a year ago and I'm completely obsessed! The instructors are not only amazing, but more importantly, when you feel like you can't do one more squat, push-up, sit-up, they seem to know exactly when and what to say to the class to give you the strength to power through! I leave the class feeling stronger, empowered and more and more confident. Donna G.
The variety of classes, the teachers and the community of people it brings together.
It's an amazing community! Great teachers and clients.
Pure Barre complements my weight training by giving me a different kind of resistance work that supports my goals of maintaining muscle and protecting bone health. The format is engaging and mentally different from lifting. I love how it makes my body feel and how it rounds out the rest of my fitness routine. And all the instructors are lovelyâI look forward to seeing them every time!
The toning aspect of the workouts
Making a commitment and sticking to it. The people/community... Pleasant Love Haley's empower class and it's even gotten me up and out of the house early on Friday mornings! (and I'm not an early morning person)
It was very impressive that the instructors learned my name after one class. I am always greeted with a smile. I like the one on one during class to correct my form or praise my form.
Harvard Square teachers have the best musicality, energy, and encouragement.
Great full-body workout, the atmosphere, good teachers and the clean, comfortable space.
Have more instructors, increase availability of different classes!
I love how personalized Pure Barre Assembly is. I'm greeted by name the second I walk in the door, and I truly feel like the instructor cares about making specific adjustments for me in class. I love the pace and duration of workouts, which I am easily able to fit into my busy schedule.
Brittany, Amanda and Colleen are all great !
I love the community at Pure Barre and they have the best instructors!!!!
I love the welcoming atmosphere, the encouraging instructors, and how every class gives me a great work out while still being enjoyable. Pure barre makes me feel stronger, more confident, and motivated to keep coming back. The front desk team is also welcoming and kind. So grateful and Thankful for all the Team players at Pure barre.
Great workout, good instructors
The lights and mirrors are super dusty. You can especially see it when you are on your back working out. Love the teachers however it would be nice to have more variety of classes in the evening. Especially if we could have reform in the evenings.
It's keeping me motivated!!! 275 classes accomplished - can't believe it!!!!
Friendlier and more engaging front desk staff that say hello and acknowledge you by name is the bare minimum, and is not met. Studio itself needs to be cleaner. Mats and equipment are a little gross. Sanitizing wipes do not replace cleaning things with soap and water (does a deep clean happen monthly? Quarterly?). Mats should probably be replaced. Bathrooms are not very clean. Quality of teaching staff is disappointing compared to other local PB studios. One teacher is constantly looking at her phone for choreography guidance, which corporate does not allow. Way too many scheduling changes/cancellations. Overall, a decent workout but disappointing experience. For the price, I'd expect more â and I'd expect staff to understand that.
Classes are amazing. Instructors are amazing (clear, helpful, and some are darn right inspirational). Scorekeeping with promotions/ challenges is a little wobbly. Cost is high. Regardless, the instructors provide such effective cueing, and they teach changing routines, so PureBarre is a top choice for me every single year.
It is a fantastic yet challenging class and I really enjoy it.
I love ð the staff and the workouts are challenging. Fun to see workout buddies at 5:30am! Whooo! Come join us!
Everything!! The community!! The coaches, the actual exercise. It's great!!
I love coming to class!! All of the teachers make working out a lot of fun and have helped me become stronger and more confident. The friendships I've made while we celebrate each other's victories says a lot about how much we truly know how hard we've worked towards our goals.
Amelia did not show up for class and did not cancel. This is the fourth time this has happened.
1) Some instructors get to know the names of those in their classes and offer individual corrections. Some do not. Making that more consistent practice would be great. 2) Some instructors provide a few tips on proper form for the more difficult portion of class before beginning. I like that practice. If they see that a specific area is a problematic then some advance coaching is a great habit. 3) More Define classes on the calendar
The friendly instructors, they are very knowledgeable and super fun!
I'd love to see more diversity and personality in the music selections. The playlists often feel pretty safe and one-dimensional to me, and I find myself wishing there were more R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats, Latin music, dancehall, and other rhythm-forward genres mixed in. Music makes such a difference in the energy of a workout, and more variety would make the classes feel much more fun and motivating to me. For lack of a better sentiment, the music needs some seasoning, 0% inspirational to be working out to "white people music" all the time. I also think the studio misses opportunities to capitalize on major cultural moments and events that could make classes feel more timely, fun, and engaging. For example, the World Cup was such an obvious opportunity for themed classes, international playlists, challenges, or community events, yet it seemed to pass by without much acknowledgment. There are so many moments throughout the year that could be used to create excitement and bring people together, and I'd love to see more creativity and cultural awareness in the programming. I think it would add a lot more energy and personality to the overall studio experience. For example, I thought it was silly having an event after Dolly Parton's death but nothing to celebrate the World Cup, which is the most popular sporting event in the world.
Love the different varieties of classes and how strong it makes you feel !!
The instructors! The availability of classes. The people I have met. And feeling great!
Music and rhythm , great challenging workout, but gentle on my joints
Late arrivals or no shows of instructors, at times miscommunication at the front desk regarding pauses in membership.
