For me, it's a great location and has everything I'm looking for.
People are so friendly in greeting you and helping if need be.
Like very much egym! Machines interesting and great to know how long it takes to use the 11machines.
I like the classes offered but find it’s hard for my husband to sign up to play tennis. He is not a high level player. He did participate in a clinic but the instructor didn’t give him any suggestions for improvement. I joined to play pickleball but find the times offered not very convenient. I would like to see some night classes offered as I work and can only attend ones during the weekend.
I’ve been attending the Manlius wife for several years and feel that the instructors for the group exercise classes are excellent, variety in what is offered and staff always friendly and helpful.
The only issue was it’s times the equipment such as the recumbent bike was down to one working, but there was always an alternative to use.
The equipment, surfaces, fans and especially the yoga room at manlius need regular deep cleaning. The wood floor at the manlius ymca is NEVER cleaned. I never see even a vacuum cleaner. Wipe around windows too. Hire an actual company to do it.
Find an alternative room for childcare activities that is not the gym during peak pickleball times. Utilize other areas of the building.
All staff are very friendly and helpful people.
The staff is very helpful, the yoga instructors are extremely talented and there are classes accessible to all levels.
Would like more strength training equipment and aerobic machines.
I enjoy the variety of classes. And the staff at the manliest why is very friendly and supportive.
It is convenient with convenient hours and not overcrowded.
Number one reason to choose coming to YMCA Manlius is Ellen’s classes. I Enjoy the Easy gym as well. Staff are great!
I would recommend YMCA Manlius to anyone. Noria
100% biased. Love it 😉
Fabulous instructors & staff & equipment and so close!
Staff is great.
When equipment or other things like the steam room or dry sauna are broken, they take WAY TOO LONG of a time to be fixed. The connectivity doesn't always work on the machines either. When Melissa isn't there, the dry sauna doesn't get turned on unless we ask the people at the front desk to turn it on. Then it takes a long while to heat up and most of us can't or don't want to wait that long for it to heat up.
The facility was clean & the equipment was new and fully functional! Great place to workout! The equipment layout was a bit odd.
Please buy 1 more recumbent bike. You have only 1 in the whole gym in cardio room with the broken strap on right pedal. People w knee problems can only do recumbent bikes. When this is in use. I have no other options. Also- hand sanitizers always run out. Please refill more often. Thanks!
I lke that you added the Egym program. However, I would like to have more help as we are just getting started.
Excellent equipment, facilities, and staff
I was at the Manlius Y for a workshop; Pause for a Cause. Jamie, the instructor was AMAZING!! Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome. My home Y is Northwest
Great staff, great program
Limit kids time on turf! Too many kids!!!!
upgraded equipment, convenient location
The Manlius Y is conveniently located for me and participates in The Senior & Fit program. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Equipment fits all of my needs. I haven’t been in the locker room in a while as I store my jacket in the cubbies but the last time I was in there the lockers could use an upgrade. Parking can be challenging if I have to go at one of the peak times.
I made the statement about the YMCA in Manlius because of how friendly and considerate are the people that work there. Even though I’ve been a member for a very short period of time they truly treat you like family.
Love the tennis programs at Manlius Y
Have a bigger Yoga Studio!
friendly staff; knowledgable instructors; a pleasant place to be!
It wasn't too crowded, machines were available, air conditioning keeps the place comfortable, staff were helpful, Yoga studio is a plus.
Friendly helpful people. Quieter atmosphere.
I was disappointed in the lack of weights and space for the TBS class. Although, Ellen is an amazing instructor.
They have great yoga instructions but the room is ridiculously small so you have to sign up and if you don't sign up on time you can't go and they let so many people in there you can barely even move so you can't get the benefits of yoga.
Clean facilities and friendly staff
The Y offers many programs for all ages, from young children up through older adults.
Everyone is so friendly. I love the E-gym. Monika trained me and she is amazing. So knowledgeable, supportive, always smiling. She also told me and encouraged me to try yoga. I did and had another great instructor. Every time I come in, I feel like Monika is the mayor of the Manlius Y. Not sure her title and perhaps she is the director but regardless, give that woman a raise. She, the e-gym, and the other staff are the best kept secrets in town.
I enjoy the variety of classes…I actually wish there were even more options throughout the week. It is in very close proximity to my house. The instructors are very knowledgeable, caring and competent. It is a great opportunity for finding community in the neighborhood.
Friendly. Stall
Mr Raphael, Ethan, and Emma were the best.
The texts about being outside or gym were so inconsistent-my suggestion would be to use the app so you dont have to send it individually to people's cell phone.
Would've like to get a reminder for upcoming half days so we couldve signed up.
Im pretty upset that there was no messaging sent when the enrollment for the next year opened.
I love that the kids were outside when possible. You all offered some really cool crafts.
My children complained that it was often too loud and noisy inside. Im not sure what went on inside.
Lack of parking. Limited senior activity
The trainers, classes, welcoming atmosphere
The group classes at the Fayetteville and Manlius classes are amazing!
Friendly staff, great facility.
Great gentle yoga and healthy back classes, friendly, helpful staff. EGYM is excellent!
Friendly, clean and nice environment. My only issue and it’s not the gym’s fault is too many times people camp out on their phones instead of getting off so others can use the equipment
The boys enjoyed playing on the turf and playing kickball. One of the staff members seemed to have a few issues with our younger son, but when my husband addressed it directly with her, she owned that she had in fact asked him "if he ever shuts up." We appreciate that she owned it. My husband and I both work in schools, so we know how it can be frustrating at times, but just would have preferred his talking to be addressed in a different manner or even just to let us know he wasn't doing what they were asking of him and we would have taken care of it.
Since addressing this issue with her, everything has seemingly been fine from the boys perspective and my husband asked her to let us know if either one was being a problem and we would address it.
The Y is such a welcoming and friendly place to walk into. There is a sense of community and it's always so nice to see familiar faces. The staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. I attend Elena's total body strength class at 9:30 and she has the most encouraging way about her. Her strength routines are regularly switched up which helps keep it interesting and her singing is fabulous. I typically don't like lifting weights, but Elena paces the class well, makes it fun, provides alternate options, is knowledgable, and pushes us without overdoing it. I am stronger as a result of attending this class regularly.
The y is conveniently located and spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful.
I would suggest that the popular EGYM is moved to an area that will be open all the time OR move the Livestrong and Women’s weight training programs to another room
Super employees that are very helpful
Everyone is always friendly and helpful at the gym.
I retired last year and I began working on the egym in Fayetteville. I was very happy to see the egym is now available in Manlius (I live in Cazenovia). After about a month of regular work-outs on the egym, I decided to investigate personal training
because I liked getting stronger. I have been working with personal trainer Elena. I didn't know what I didn't know - we have been working on core strength and balance and I feel so much better when I work out. I have recommended it to my husband and he says he intends to join the Y this fall (after the summer mowing and gardening season is over). Also, I have found the people at the Y to be very friendly and helpful and I think it is a great place to get to know people. I am also doing some water dance classes in Fayetteville. It has really enriched my retirement.
