The Judo program is very well run and helpful to people of every age and ability. It’s not only great exercise and a great sport but it’s a real community here at Princeton that has gotten us more involved with other aspects at the YMCA.
Teacher isn't really that good. Feel like I'm learning more from a student that has had some experience. But out meeting new people is good.
Our son Svetogor adores basketball classes.
The programs don’t offer the structure that young children need. The instructor does not provide age appropriate instruction that engages the children.
The pool was too cold for my child to take swimming lessons. His basketball class was canceled and we haven't received a make-up date or refund.
The Princeton YMCA offers one of the best spaces for parents and children to spend quality time and truly connect. The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming - always greeting us with warm smiles that brighten our day. This is one of my favorite YMCAs because it provides more than just a place to visit - it creates a sense of comfort, community, and genuine support for everyone who walks through the door!
They are very welcoming! Great place and Kind staff.
Ballet instructor and studio
Our family loved the "Hoops House" basketball program! The drills were age appropriate with the right amount of challenge, it feels like the perfect foundation to build upon. I think this age range makes it accessible, not too intimidating for them. We would love to continue with this during the rest of the year.
Coach Bryan is excellent!
The availability of instructors coupled with a place for kids to play between sessions is wonderful. The instructors are really attentive. They would benefit from having more oversight of the parents in swimming who interrupt the swimming sessions for the younger kids by standing on the edge of the pool and talking to their children during the session. Perhaps they should enroll in a parent and child class vs. disrupting the classes.
Better management gmant of programs, accurate scheduling, do not change the schedule on the last minute
Basketball league was disorganized this winter season
Well oriented towards age appropriate and good staffing. Friendly environment.
program is great but the logistics were very confusing -- website was confusing not clear so i got someone on the phone at the local gym who was great and helped me get my kids registered... BUT we didnt realize that first day was a 2 hr try out at a different time and that the program was wed AND SAt... so the website needs to be more clear around the times and dates, many people i spoke w had this issue. ty ty we love the y and we are grateful for the program!!
Great programs, my son loves it here and has a great time and learns. He is always excited to do anything at the Y. Thank You !!!!
For basketball, my daughter said she likes that they teach them the fundamentals of the game instead of just throwing them out there to play and figure it out. She also likes that it is inclusive.
Community focused, all inclusive
I think all of the counselors are very caring and considerate of the young children they are instructing. I have been very impressed with the level of skill being taught. In addition, the price point for classes is perfect. One benefit of being part of the YMCA afterschool program is the discount for sports programs at the YMCA. It's a mutually beneficial program for the community and students and I hope they continue to operate this way for future generations!
Fencing and Sam Blanchard are great. I hope the YMCA extends the fencing offerings to what they used to be. It is so nice to offer this sport that is typically for the elite to the general population.
I love that my kid has access to such cool sports as fencing and swimming!
Sam Blanchard is a very dedicated fencing coach. He has helped my son progress tremendously. His love for the sport is contagious :)
The instructor is friendly and knowledgeable
more time for family swimming
The fencing program at the Princeton Y is so well run - the coaches are awesome! The program suits the competitive fencer as well as the casual learner. I would absolutely and often do recommend the program to folks of all ages. There is room for everyone.
The fencing program has been great. My son has learned a lot and I appreciate that it's affordable and accessible.
By bad luck, all classes were cancelled so far, the pool is cold and information was only shared upon arrival (would prefer to be able to read it somewhere or get an information). However, I am sure there will be better experiences soon
