Affordable…friendly..,accessible
I am intimidated by all the machines but want to learn how to use them. I've three times tried to get an orientation but haven't yet heard anything. First time with a guy on the phone when I signed up. Second time same guy at the front desk. Third time another front desk person told me to request it online which I did about a week ago and I haven't yet heard a thing.
Love having a pool, wish it was cleaner (the stairs are mildewy) and wish we had lane lines back. Showers seem dirty, too, especially the curtains, and wish there were more hooks in the shower and changing areas. Pool feels cold, and keeping the doors wide open makes it wven colder (eg when it's 6am and 55o out). Wish the clock in the reception area was synchronized with the computers as it consistently reads 5:32 (not 5:30) when the doors are opened. These are all small things but seem easy to fix and would make a difference.
Some people prefer newer buildings
I have enjoyed the varied classes that are offered. However, the water in the swimming pool is chilly.
Great teachers, friendly clientel.
I love how the Y offers programs for all ages.
I’ve been coming since 2016 for pool I love morning arthritis class with Pat and Tues morning class but last week on the Wednesday at class at 158 pm the teacher very rudely told me and another lady we were being loud and the class was almost over and I was explaining to go to doctor that did my knee replacement since only 2 minutes left and other people talking I didn’t know there was no talking in class but other than that incident I love ymca and how much you help with pool classes every other teacher is great thank you
Keep the swimming pool warmer
great staff
Friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff.
The facilities are run down and not well maintained. The exercise equipment is old and in many cases is worn or damaged. Some if the clients wash their clothes in the locker room and appear to be using the facility as a homeless shelter. A number of the staff appear bored and disengaged. All of this for monthly dues higher than many other gyms.
I do the bootcamp on Tues/Thurs. with Hallie- she is awesome! I have friends who do Zumba, and also pickleball, and they are also big fans of the Y.
The POOL! The ropes have been failing for years, and now there are only 2 ropes - And no email announcing how you are going to resolve it or how quickly you will buy new ones. Every adult I know at the YMCA goes for the POOL, but it's neglected. And frankly, the adult lap swim members feel disappointed. We never know when there is going to be a change in schedule that affects LAP SWIM depriving us our hours in favor of more lessons youths or Scouts or some other training. Can we actually have hours in the evening to swim? 6-7pm is now just for lessons... there is no time for average working adult to swim laps in the evenings. It's a great pool. It's the service that I want and pay for, but the attention to the pool & adult working population is neglected
I'm a very intermittent user but I appreciate being able to use the cardio room pretty much on demand.
They need to get healthy things like a sauna and posters in the weight room showing correct forms.
I go four days a week and love how friendly the participants and instructors are. Wish I’d known about the Y sooner!
Everything is so clean there the locker rooms the building it's just clean I love it
The number and quality and diversity of interests represented by the classes and sports available at the Central Sacramento Y is wonderful. I have never seen so many interesting activities before! I really like the classes I am taking. The instructors anre top notch! And the access to the weight room and the pool are wonderful too.
I enjoy the facilities, but I wish there was more/better parking
Parking is a challenge
Because I like the way they treat Seinors there!
I really value the quality of the instructors, the variety of classes and the positive atmosphere at Sac Central Y.
It has a great variety of classes for folks of all ages.
I enjoy my arthritis swim class with Pat Wolf ! !
