The microphone didn’t work and especially on a topic like this, where there are older people in the audience it was difficult to hear. The speaker‘s voice was quite low. It also started 15 or 20 minutes late.
Great information and lots of time to ask questions. Presley was very knowledgeable.
Use a larger font on the PowerPoint presentation so everyone can read it. Also, maybe pass a microphone to the people asking questions so everyone can hear.
The sound system was very muffled. My seat was at such an angle I couldn’t see the screen. The content was not interesting. I will not ask for a return of my fee because I strayed for the complete first program. But, I’m requesting a refund for the remaining 5 sessions for both my wife and me. The facility is very large and clean. I also like the many different classes that are offered
Excellent staff…helpful volunteers….plenty of equipment …. No pressure exercising
I love the Y. I would definitely appreciate more options for strength training that are more straightforward rather than Les Mills classes.
They have excellent instructors, great classes, everyone there helpful, great pools and clean
Staff are super friendly very helpful the Y at Sonerset had a PHENOMENAL LIVE STRONG STAFF and trainers . Simply WONDERFUL and thank you for all you do !!!
The people
Program. Offerings every day for many types of people. Lots of people there but never to crowded,
1) There should be an exercise program similar to the one for cancer survivors (LIVESTRONG) for seniors in general.
2) A suggestion box could be helpful if the suggestions are read and evaluated.
3) Emails with weekly schedule for wellness center programs as well as schedule for pool and gym or any announcements should be sent out with schedules or direct links to website may be helpful.
Such a great variety of programs offered for all age groups. A large assortment of equipment to use in their facility that is well maintained. Pools and locker rooms are in excellent condition. The staff is very professional and always willing to be of help. I truly enjoy spending time there.
Tracey (small group instruction) is one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. She truly knows her exercises, form, nutrition, and how to plan classes. She is amazing!
SHY is a very special place. My wife and I love to come here almost every day. The staff is amazing!
Everyone is extremely nice. Such a great community of people.
Somerset Hills YMCA is a wonderful experienc for the many programs they offer and a very well equipped facility thats able to provide encouragement, personal training and so much more, the Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and a very clean building.
Great staff and facilities. Committed to the community
I love Somerset hills YMCA. The workout Gym is fantastic. The pools are wonderful. And the classes are great.
My trainer, Malcolm Rowley is awesome
The programs and facilities are excellent; however the lack of recognition of veterans in your membership rates is a negative.
Tracey my trainer is outstanding she has gone above and beyond to help me on my fitness journey. The facilities are excellent and staff is friendly and helpful..
The class I attend is excellent. The trainer is top-notch. She knows her students very well always has a variety of different movements and explains always. Why each one is important.
Love the AOA classes - you can adjust up or down to your abilities.
The osteoporosis talk was good, as well as the one on the aging mind (can’t remember the title - Dr. Vicky something - PhD).
Clean with good equipment and availability. Friendly staff.
Some of the programs I have attended turned out to be a sales pitch and the information given was lacking. The presenters often lack good credentials and credibility on the information given. After attending most workshops given by the Somerset Hills YMCA I felt like it was a waste of my time. I do appreciate the Y's efforts for the daily classes, the facility and the people who work there. The Y is a good as it gets. The classes are pretty good, the facility is good and looks good, the people who work there are welcoming and caring. I haven't had much luck with the program presentations we have had.
The SH YMCA creates a community of great people who both work there and who are members.
Excellent and knowledgeable Personal trainers (Liz & Sarah)
membership is very expensive. YMCA should offer more & better discounts.
Love the people who work at the Y. They are knowledgeable, helpful, & enthusiastic! Everyone I’ve met who works out has been friendly; a great group of people!
Clean environment and many things to choose from.
The lecture today on Brain health and eating the right foods was so informative! Very motivating to hear from Dr. Coffin and I can now make better decisions with the foods I eat to help keep good brain health. Fantastic program!
Did the Pilates reformer demo with Lisa- she was great.
The people are great. The programs are so good.
Would love to see Engelhart open before 6 at least a couple more days.
The entire facility is exceptional relative to other Y’s. It’s clean, large, and well lit by natural light.
Great staff, excellent programs, top-notch equipment, and plenty of free parking.
It was a big liability to have a NON-professional speak to a group of troubled members: depression, un-employement and some medical issues were shared. The speaker presented to be a 'therapist'. She is licensed ZERO.
Many activities and probably something for everybody.
Classes and multiple times of day to meet most schedules
Well constructed
Some lf thr ellipticals need tightening and the TV does not work on some screens.
great instructors, wonderful staff, excellent classes, equipment is top notch.
Mine and my co-participant team mates experiences owe gratitude to the Staff and Training Department for their dedication and extreme care and guidance they provide. I am humbled to be a part of this organization and sincerely appreciate y'all!
Shout out to Marylyn, Karen, Liz, Tracey and Lisa - "Semper Paratus"
p.s. Keep the Faith
I like the AOA classes for seniors. My only complaint is tha I wish that there were more classes. They are often completely subscribed with a full waitlist as well.
Should have some functional (e.g., box jump) classes.
Helpful staff, great equipment ( I Love the German ten equipment!)
Great facility! But I often need to tell the front desk that the upstairs women’s bathroom is out of towels, so that bathroom doesn’t seem to get checked often.
And the front desk should be reminding every member that comes in in the evening of the times they close because I often find members asking or do not know.
Love the AOA classes. Except that for many of them, if you don’t sign up within 24 hours after the prior class, it is full. You need more of them.
Variety of programs, friendly, encouraging, caring and knowledgeable instructors!
