no disappointment just no glowing reason to recommend, either
My concern is not about the facility itself, but about how a situation involving my son was handled. I felt that staff intervention and supervision were insufficient, which led me to step in when it should not have been necessary. Situations involving minors should be addressed promptly and appropriately by staff so parents are not placed in that position. This experience raised concerns about youth supervision and response procedures
While she also thoroughly enjoyed her previous one, my daughter absolutely LOVES her gymnastics class this go round! She says her teacher is so nice and I can see the improvements she has been making as well.
Instructors should be more consistent in class attendance. Implementing an action plan for those kids who do not demonstrate the expected progress.
we like it very much, however it needs to improve more in terms of communications incase of class cancellations and refund policy as a result of this. Else, alternative arrangements needs to be made for cancelled classes.
I was being filmed in the locker room. I had been reporting people using their phones in the locker rooms for several years, among other complaints that went largely ignored. The matter is in the hands of my attorney.
There is no sense of organization every week there is a different instructor . No idea what's going on . During the class it's erratic no really enthusiasm in teaching there just sorta of there
The teachers for the beginners gymnastics class are wonderful, but i've noticed that for the past two months that the class has not had the kids use the tumble track at all. It would be great to incorporate that into the beginners class since all the kids love it so much and look forward to going on it and I think it's helpful for their skills too.
Gymnastics is great program
We love the gymnastics experience and the coaches and team are awesome.
My girls LOVE the gymnastics program. They're learning new skills, gaining flexibility and having fun!!
Right now Somerville branch has a real lack of programs, especially for the active older adult which in the past was well provided for , enthusiastically promoted and well supported by the Y and membership alike. The Y needs to offer more classes in Somerville. To tell us we can go to Basking Ridge is not a solution to our lacks. Currently Somerville only has Zumba gold and chair yoga for the active older adult. We just lost Lisa's stretch class as she left and there's no replacement teacher. We also don't have backup teachers when ours is out. What is basking ridge doing to make their programs grow that we aren't?
We are very happy with the ymca gymnastics program and we admire Rachel's dedication to the team.
