Stoney creek is price gouging now when I signed up here my membership was only $51 now it’s sky rocketed to $60 per month that’s double the price of other gyms that are wayyy better and offer wayyy more all the YMCAs are so run down and out dated yet overcharging I think I’m going to cancel my my membership soon

Its not so much a disappointment. Apparently the hours that I arrive, while I'm happy for myself to be able to come these hours, its not such a good time to ask questions or get a tour. I asked for a tour once and the worker advised they were just about to leave which is understandable. At the same time, that has been my only opportunity to see a worker so there's that.

The hours are super convenient, it's always clean and rarely too crowded. It has everything I need for a good workout.

Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I am currently taking the Tai Chi class and truly appreciate this being offered at this location. It has been a great class so far.

Robert is a very skilled trainer. Very knowledgable, kind, takes time to instruct on breathing, proper mechanics.... I enjoy working out with him.

I have had 2 different trainers at Stoney creek. Both were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and great to work with. Kaleb was the first one and when he went to work at another Y I was worried about the replacement. I did not need to as Courtney is also excellent. She is personable and enthusiastic as well as professional. She takes into account my physical limitations and pushes me just enough to help ease those limitations while Improving my overall strength and health. with the work she does. I would recommend her to others no problem.

There is a variety of classes, the staff is supportive and welcoming and you have access to the facility 24/7.

My trainer is very knowledgeable, always prepared and able to make adjustments to exercises depending on my needs and ability.

Here lately it has been extremely packed. I love this gym but here lately there has been a lot of younger people coming in half dressed and they don’t wipe down the equipment. When I say half dressed I mean shorts so small they look like underwear.

LOVE the 24/7! Need to open the elliptical and bicycle room during unstaffed hours.

It’s ok if you go by yourself. But I often go with my 16yr and he’s not allowed to go to this one after hours with me.

I've been a member for many years and very pleased with the facility and staff. Gym is clean and staff are always available for assistance and conversation regarding exercises. Now that they are a 24/7 gym there are no excuses for not making oneself the best version of yourself!

I’ve been been exercising at the Stoney Creek YMCA branch since 2014 and seen it go through staff changes, the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, an expansion, and other changes to the facility itself. In all this time the Stoney Creek YMCA has remained a clean and well-equipped facility with a friendly and welcoming environment that lives up to the YMCA of Greensboro’s mission of inclusiveness. As a smaller Express branch the focus at Stoney Creek is primarily on adults and young adults wanting to maintain a regular exercise regimen. It does not have a pool or sports courts, but offers a wide variety of weight-training, core and cardio equipment, an extensive collection of free weights and other types of exercise equipment, a decent and varied selection of group exercise classes conducted by certified instructors, and personal trainers. The latest exciting change was the Stoney Creek branch becoming available 24/7 to members 18 years of age and older and to date all seems to be going well. I will admit a decision to keep part of the gym closed after hours initially left me feeling deeply disappointed and frustrated. However, the current Operations Manager, Aaron, has been very open to input from members and he and his team have worked hard to make adjustments so that the areas of the gym that are open 24/7 meet the needs of all the members. My disappointment and frustration have been dispelled and my satisfaction with the Stoney Creek branch has been restored.

I think ever since Aaron took over managing the place it has become so much better. The 24/7 accesss is a total game changer and the new equipment bought in the past year has been great. I’d like to see a new calf raise machine and a water fountain bottle filler sometime in the future. The issues I do have are the plates need to be organized better. You can’t count on members to always do the right thing and put the plates back in the correct spot. An employees should do a walkthrough every once in a while and organize the plates and equipment. Also I feel wiping off the equipment should be stressed more. Maybe put some signs up and have employees let people know they should wipe off benches and machines after each use. It’s important for the safety of everyone.
Having said that I enjoy this location and look forward to the future of this facility
