I love the inclusivity. thanks
Dance program is the best one there. Excellent instructors
eveything was good.
Teachers always have passion to improve children's swimming skill. Also, they love participating into class everyday. Thank you so much for your teaching.
Children interacting with eachother is always a plus!
I cannot speak for all programs, but I suggest having more structure in the kick and hoop class that my five year old was in. While they had him kicking the ball, stopping the ball and at times throwing the ball during octopus and what time is it mister wolf and open play, they didn't actually teach him how to improve any of these skills. They didn't have him practice passing more than once. They didn't teach him how to dribble the ball. They just played the same games every class over and over. So my son got bored of these same games and didn't actually learn anything.
I love the commitments of the staff, the patience, the variety of programs and activities.
My kids really enjoyed Basketball and Dance this session. Cohen, Hayden and Sofia were wonderful - firm, friendly, organized. Having the same staff consistently this sessions was great! The was a bit more advanced this session which Emilia loved! Great job!
Great staff, starts on time, kids have fun!
Staff to be more active in the basket ball program. Swimming is excellent.
I am frustrated with the age ranges for the programs. There is a large developmental difference between a 3yr old and a 5yr old just shy of 6. To lump them into the same classes is really unfair to the 5yr old. My daughter is 5.5yrs old and has taken numerous dance classes now and the teachers are willing to vouch for her to go to the older class but the program co-ordinator wouldn't even talk to me about it. The 5pm class time is also difficult for us because her bus doesn't arrive until 4:40pm. So I have to pick her up from school and then sit at the Y for 30-45mins waiting for her class.
Doesn't seem overly organized, feel like more should be offered, can't always get a spot in the programs we want, no one returns emails/ calls when trying to contact, would be nice to have an description/ outline as what to expect in the programs.
Drop in gym for kids. Programs for kids.. my son enjoys soccer. Swimming lessons.
Opportunity for everyone to enjoy no matter what financial class. Staff are great with the kids andwell versed in YMCA programs and other Opportunities. Parents can enjoy gym while their kids are supervised and engaged in other activities safetly. Pool is accessible for everything including those with mobility issues.
My son with autism goes to the gymable program . These people are awesome with him! I have gone through programs for autistic kids with adults who have gone to school specifically for working with kids with disabilities and the ymca stoneybrook staff have been better with him then any of them. I couldn't be more thankful for their patience and kindness towards my son . They all deserve a raise .
It is very expensive for the services provided. I didn't see any good coaching for my son's swimming and basketball lessons. He was just left to play on his own with others, without teaching proper technique and team play what's the point of paying so much?
Excellent facility & Good programmes
Well organized programs
The family change room at Stoney Creek has 8 showers, only 4 of them work, and only 2 of those 4 have hot water. For the amount of money I am paying per month for a membership, my kids should have access to hot water after swimming. I cannot use a different change room since I have kids who are the opposite gender. Eliminate the 4 change rooms and stream line it to 2 gendered change rooms +18 and 1 universal, same as Bostwick. You double the size of the family change rooms at Stoney Creek and you can still justify charging extra for the over +18. Figure out how to fix your showers and hot water or I don't want to keep paying for this.
Very limited activities and spots
Gentle yoga
Lots of options for my kids who have very different interests
the interaction, and strength building
My kids have done swimming lessons twice now. Our summer teacher was lovely (Kate) Our new teacher isn't very patient and shows her irritation clearly with my kids do to there disabilities. My kids have noticed and aren't enjoying it as much as last time. The teacher was short with me upon the end of my lesson last week because she felt they were too much work. It has been my understanding that both kids would get a private lesson with swimable and for some reason they were put together with one teacher. That isn't my fault and I was open with the kids disabilities. Also they could have spoken with Kate and asked about both kids needs but I guess they didn't.
Keeps the child engaged. Lots of variety and space.
