I am not happy with how Corey Brown handled the situation. Nor am I happy with with the "support" this scam of an operation provides.
the staff
The Y is a very welcome place. It keeps me feeling connected to my community and it allows me the freedom to exercise while my daughter has a great time at child watch!
I have referred family and friends because I really enjoy the ymca
Like all daily cardio adult classes and instructors
Summer sports camp i expected to be a better variety of sports. Additionally the availability to choose the sport or activities. If a child doesn't like the sport there should be more options. Basic sports should be basketball, baseball, flag football, volleyball, etc. Once the child is at a green level for swimming would be better if there is more advance swimming or taught other strokes. Maybe get college or high-school captains of teams to properly show the rules, guidelines, and basic of the sport before playing to avoid children getting hurt.
Very crowded. Rude members.
My kids love going to camp. The swim lessons and activities are fun. Getting to meet new friends, hang out with friends from previous years, and seeing friends from school that they otherwise wouldn’t have seen over the summer. Miss Melissa and the other counselors are great with the kids. I love picking them up and hearing about the different activities they did, new friends they made, and memories they created. It’s a great camp!
Easy to communicate with. Answer all questions. Friendly and kind.
My son comes home excited about the activities he participated in and he is exhausted from being so active all day.
Cold water, very hard to hear instructors
I love my Y the only two things I would love to see are, 1- family plan should be below atleast $100.00. 2- Badminton game should be added in the weekly schedule.
The staff is very nice. There are so many options. The poo
The condition of the Sussex YMCA Y’s women’s locker room is unacceptable. The lockers are dirty and often filled with trash or abandoned belongings. The floors aren’t being cleaned properly—whoever is mopping is simply spreading dirt and hair around rather than removing it. The showers also appear to go completely uncleaned.
I cannot recall the last time the Y notified members that the locker rooms would be unavailable for a thorough deep cleaning, but it is clearly overdue. The daily cleaning service also needs to be reevaluated and replaced with one that uses proper cleaning products rather than dirty water. Please do better.
The facility is well-maintained with ample equipment and classes.
I joined to play pickleball. Many players are good sports, but there are also a good number who disregard sign up and wait list rules, abuse the ability to sign up others, and lack sportsmanlike conduct. The Y has not taken a firm stance on thus despite being aware of it. I understand that correcting paying customers is not easy, but then there are other paying customers who are more getting the playtime and value from their memberships.
Everybody from staff to other patrons have been so kind and considerate at the YMCA.
Gym is too small for me to actually justify the price per month. Weekend hours are horrendous.
More than meets all my needs! Yours, too!
Clean and well equipped.
The communication has been terrible. Rules were changed without prior notice. I called the director of before/after care and am still waiting for a call back one month later.
The instructors are great, the classes are varied for different ability levels and I like the barre and dance classes.
everyone is very friendly and helpful, both in the gym and all the classes
Consider having equipment like chairs, balls, and hands weights available in both the gym and the classroom near the child-minding room.
I understand the camp is starting and some of the pool classes that you offer ALL year are going to be cut because of camp???
Sorry but not sorry, why you can't figure it out?!?. Simply not fair to members who rely on these classes to stay fit.
The staff are very friendly and the staff in the exercise area are very helpful.
The staff was great. I liked that the kids had outdoor time when possible
Very convenient. Good staff that interacts with the kids
Friendly staff. Well organized. My son loved it!
There’s always great communication with the staff and my kid enjoys going to after school
Lifting are is overcrowded no one has gym etiquette anymore
Friendly staff- encouraging instructors-clean place
My son really enjoys the time in aftercare. He has made a bunch of friends outside of his class, and outside of his grade.
It is an amazing service and the staff is excellent with the kids
Staff is very friendly! I have never had an issue I wish they offered aftercare to 3rd grade at my child's school they are amazing
It’s stable and my daughter has fun
Modern clean and good maintenance of facilities.
We love the Y !
I paid for the pool and hot tub. The pool is way too cold. The hot tub is either too cold due to cleaning or some other issue. And yet the “decking” is always dirty. I am very disappointed.
Equipment is plentiful and kept in good condition. Staff is helpful and friendly. There are many classes that offer variety for working out.
Not enough handicap parking spots. Been like this for years.
Very friendly staff, clean facilities and it’s judgment free
It would be nice if there were more classes offered on weekends. I do understand that maybe it's because employees want weekends off. Some of the instructors could be friendlier. One lady in particular acts like she owns the place! She needs to improve her attitude. It makes me very uncomfortable.
There is so much to do, many classes, the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi are great.
I love the classes and the instructors so much! Everyone is so helpful and friendly! So much variety for all levels of fitness and health!
The Sussex County Y is one of the best attractions for the young and old. My husband and I have enjoyed many of their programs especially their water programs with Betty during the week and Meg on Sunday morning. They are excellent water instructors! We are very pleased to see how many families take advantage of leading healthy lives due to having access to the Sussex County Y.
Thank you!
Seems the pool water temp is getting cooler as the weather outside gets warmer. Stop it!
The youth program offerings are great. We just wish there were outdoor sports classes available in the spring/fall seasons.
The staff is what gets us coming back everyday. They make you feel warm and welcome, as if I’ve made their day by showing up .
Facilities: more pickleball time ( I won’t go to Lafayette)…
Locker room: ( ladies),.. we need more mirrors and less locks on lockers
For men’s locker room: they need more space in there. Mornings are crowded with seniors and they prefer to sit on the beginning of a row, so you can’t get past them to find a spot on an empty bench that is farther down the row.
I would like to see a variety of pop-up water classes offered, rather than the same routine. Classes such as water boxing and water aerobics set to classic music could be particularly appealing. There is an Instagram video showcasing Italian water aerobics that appears to be an enjoyable activity. Consider introducing one or two of these classes to generate excitement among our regular group attendees.
