Please turn the sound level down on your in-house music. Music selection is very subjective and your playlist is not appealing.
I would recommend YMCA to another senior who can get it for free as I can, but I can't say from my own experience I would recommend it to someone else. No fault of yours, just lack of knowledge on my part
Great place!
Professional, friendly, clean, and efficient. Thank you.
I love the YMCA fitness center. It’s clean, staff are friendly and the Woodland location is convenient.
Neither satisfied or disappointed. Nothing exceptional that stands out.
My wife and I are fairly active in the Yolo YMCA. We settled into three classes, Zumba, Tai Chi, and Line Dancing. We’ve been with Vanessa’s Zumba the longest, over 10 years. Dahlia and I have slowed down a bit but we still enjoy the music and move at our own pace; it’s good cardio fun . . . We’ve been in Daniel’s Tai Chi class for a few months learning Tai Chi walking and the basic Tai Chi 37 short form. I’m beginning to understand its health benefits for seniors, particularly when it comes to posture, balance, and other aspects of movement. And he just added a Tai Chi Sword class . . . Amy’s Line Dancing class began a few weeks ago. It’s a good way to start the morning with some lower-intensity music and footwork. Amy seems to have some connection to the local performing arts community. She was (and maybe still is) a member of the CalPERS choir, and she recently had a role in Romeo and Juliet at the Winters Opera House . . . In addition to these classes, we continue to use the fitness center for strength training . . . And we’ve met fabulous people including staff, trainers, and other members. The Y is a wonderful organization and we are fortunate to be a part of it. Steve Yoshida
I think some additional classes would benefit the membership, especially those who are interested in holistic health. I would like to suggest gong meditation sessions twice a week, in addition to step classes being offered for beginner and intermediate.
I love the staff!
I am very happy about my membership, but there is a void which is important in the fitness part of your program. There should be strength training with weights offered 3 times a week.
Very clean facility and very nice staff.
It has a lot of good exercise classes
Replace treadmills when they break-down.
Equipment is old and when repair is needed it takes a long time to get it up and working again.
There are not enough equipment (specifically treadmills), it feels stuffy in there (A/C is on, but humidity feels >50%), showers would be nice for us having to head to work after a workout, limited hours on weekends (my time to actually work out because I have help with the kids).
Clean, generally quiet facility near my home.
Friendly, helpful staff.
We really enjoy the Wooland Community Center, facilities, equipment, programs and helpful staff. It is comparatively easy to maintain physical fitness. It is also a joy to see the active use of the athletic fields on weekends and families cheering on their youngsters. Likewise the new aquatic center is a positive addition. Keep up the good work YMCA!

They have something for everybody. That said having signed my 3 year old up for soccer I found the cost high considering they practice snd play on public parks snd the coaches are volunteers. The kicker is you have to purchase a jersey from a specific company, $27😱
Great place to work out and take classes. I love how quiet it is. It’s not crazy like other workout places; the YMCA is a great place.
I love the Tuesday & Thursday morning Pilates class with beth
Young Saturday staff just stare at the computer the whole time and never make coffee, do any clean up, or make any attempt to enforce the rule that the rest room is for members. There are restrooms for others outside. Also, a proper sign is needed that states the bathroom rule. The 8&1/2 x 11 sheet of paper taped to the front door, that no one reads, doesn’t help.
Also, I’ve heard non members, every time I’m there, ask all staff members where the bathroom is and they all point to the members bathroom. ????
Why have rules???
I enjoy the crowd there, Jenny in the Office always ,so friendly .easy to talk with, has most friendly smile, for everyone, I have made a few very nice friends there, besides a good "work out" with Sabrena, she is very great instructor and makes it fun! i look forward to going to class on Tuesday & Thursday..... Good work outs, good socializing, can't ask for anything more!

Great, clean, well-equipped facility with some great class choices.
I like the yoga class that attend
Friendly staff and variety of classes and clean equipment.
What influences me to hesitate to recommend the Y is simply that some people prefer not to join and other people prefer not to pay and there are options in Woodland. I think the Y in Woodland is very good and and has great offerings and the people are wonderful. I frequently recommend joining for anyone who wants Pilates or Yoga or a fun senior class (chair).
Lots of machines and cardio options. Nice staff
Proximity great but wish insurance for UC was better. Great staff too!
Open earlier on Saturday. Turn the local news back on the TV.
Very engaged staff. Participants at the gym in Woodland are friendly and helpful. As a traveler during a period of time when working I always looked first for a Y pool for workouts because I knew they would be consistent in providing a consistent and welcoming experience. My father (he would be about 104 years old right now) always praised the Y for their programs for youth and more.
Lots of equipment to choose from. Not too crowded at certain times. Some users need to stop sitting on equipment between sets and scrolling on their phones.
I really love Sabrina’s chair exercise classes. So energetic and she’s always changing things up! So many machines to choose from too.
College St has only rowing machine which I love. People are always nice checking in at both locations. Love, Love. love Sebring chair/ music exercise. I wish she had the class every day!!
There is a lot of equipment in a small space and it is a busy place. I have mobility issues and use a walker. I like to go at off times. Staff is friendly and it is generally clean.
Very professional, friendly and economic al services. Thank you.
Clean, quiet, variety of machines and classes.
The YMCA staff never replied after I responded to his original e-mail. I provided him with information from my HMO (United Healthcare) on how they approve of a caregiver assisting me on my workouts since I am 75. Not sure why he ghosted me after my response.
Amazing people and such great classes.
I love the 8AM stretching class. The other participants keep me motivated. It is a welcoming group that greets newcomers to encourage them to keep coming. The leader is great.
I go to work out at 6:00 a.m. and find it a perfect time for me. It's fresh early in the mornings and I get my work out done early. I wouldn't have it any other way. Very please with the staff at the office. They have great people skills and very informative and always willing to answer any questions I may have. The establishment looks very clean as well.
My wife and I enjoy our exercise classes, the people are friendly, and the membership fees are very reasonable. We also make good use of the fitness center and the equipment there. Thank you!
I really wish that the gym was open Saturday & Sunday. Also wish there was more pilates offerings.
Due to recent rotater cuff surgery, I have only been to 2 chair Yoga classes. I have enjoyed them so much, that I can’t wait to do more of them, since I have almost completed my recovery time, and my physical therapy, this class is very valuable to me. I noticed after the second class, that I immediately felt an increase my range of motion, and even more so the following day. I hope to see more of these classes offered at the College facility. I have enjoyed meeting the staff, as everyone is very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend the YMCA to a friend!!
Although the classes and equipment meet our needs, the biggest deficiency is the lack of locker rooms. Even if I don't need to shower, I do need to change my clothes before and after each workout.
The second criticism is the lack of association with the swimming pool, which is on the same property but requires a separate membership.
The Patience the Instructors have and don't feel Judged. Since I have never been to a Gym or class of any kind in my life, I didn't know what to expect. I'm really surprised so far I'm enjoying it
Exceptional facilities. Great staff!
I frequently seek to have information about the classes offered; I never see flyers on the counter outside the Woodland YMCA (at Sr Center). Having access to this information would be very helpful.
Hours are very limiting. Wish they opened sooner and closed later. Also, very limited in equipment type.
Equipment maintenance is infrequent. When machines go down it takes a long time for them to be fixed. The “Y” asks members to wipe down equipment after use but they run out of disinfectant wipes. It doesn’t seem like they plan ahead and have backups.
Recently, I was told that “someone” directed the gym staff not to play news on the TV’s. Me and other morning members do not consider Good Morning America or NBC Morning Show
news programs since they include other topics and guests and only a small fraction of news. It seems that a census should be taken of members to see what they would like.
