I like the outdoor pool
The Y’s staff are friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. Parking downtown can be tricky but not impossible. The monthly fee is reasonable. The classes are varied and the coaches are pleasant. I recommend without reservation.
Well I have to say that things are improving since opening. It’s also nice to see more people attending the Capital Y.
A few things that I would like to see improved: 1) Cleanliness - it’s not bad, but could improve. What happened to the woman who was walking around cleaning? I was nice to see someone cleaning! The Pilates room upstairs should be cleaned every evening - I’m in that room regularly and I see dirt on the floor, dust bunnies, etc.
2) I sure you’re aware of this but I will state it here - the HVAC upstairs needs adjusting/tuning as every room upstairs is a different temperature - some feel like a sauna, others like an ice box.
3) The Pool - thank you for the recent maintenance! Can we keep the temp consistent at 82 degrees please ? Any warmer and it’s uncomfortable for lap swimmers. Those who use it for other reasons and complain about the temperature being too cold should layer on some swim gear - lap swimmers can’t take off any more gear to cool down. Also, keeping the pool at 82 helps keep your operating costs down.
With the money you would save by keeping the water temp at 82, you could buy us some adult pull buoys!
Otherwise, I am enjoying the Pilates, TriDry, and strength training classes.
Thank you,
George BALDINI
For older Kaiser folks, it's a great deal. Instructors and their classes are invaluable
Great place for every age.
It's convenient and family friendly
Th
I recommended someone, who actually joined. I informed him of the various water classes.
Closed too many times, but still paying higher dues
No text, no email on CapY closer for swim lessons while the W street pool is closed. I paid almost $5 to park by the CapY. When I went to the door the note said 3-7 swim lessons. Really! And since I had not brought any other workout I was out of luck and money.
Our Capital Y is exceptionally clean, quiet, friendly and professional. The group exercise teachers are excellent. We love our neighborhood Y!
More group classes. Parking!!
Equipment is in need of repair often
There's plenty of activities and different types of workouts to do, the trainers are great, and the membership fees are very reasonable.
Everyone is so friendly and nice. I like that I can go to multiple clubs in the Sacramento area. I’m really grateful for cycling and cycling classes that are in my budget. Previously, I was not able to do them because private classes are so expensive. Thank you!
The weight rooms have poor circulation and need music.
Cloce to home
Cardio room is stifling hot. Need stairclimbers and ab machines.
Extend weekend hours.
I have recommended the Y to both a neighbor and my adult daughter. Since we live about 10 minutes away, it is a very convenient option.
Nice facility and friendly staff.
I visited the pool on Labor Day. There weren't many people there and it was easy to get a lane. The facility is lovely and the pool well maintained. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. It was my first visit. I would suspect that parking is difficult on weekdays, which may be a deterrant.
The upstairs has been hot since I joined and this is a huge bummer. I’d hope that it would be fixed after more than a month. Given that, I would be hesitant to recommend someone since the temps are a big part of a workout routine.
Great classes, trainers, friendly members.
It would be nice to coordinate classes with Sac Central YMCA. For example, not having zumba classes at the same time. People would be willing to support both locations if there were fewer class conflicts.
