I enjoy all of the equipment and the olympic pool

It’s so small!! It appears there is room to add on??
It just felt crowded in a small area where its weight lifting and cardio combined and almost all the equipment was being used so you had to share or wait for the equipment to open up
When class was almost over people started entering the room. They did not give you time to pack up your personel items before they were trying to lay down their mats. Maybe have 10-15 minutes before next class begins.
with so little gym space, each machine needs to be optimized. wish hip thrust machine had belt instead of foam bar, like the Schertz Y.
The facilities are always clen and the staff is professional friendly
The work out room is small and very crowded. The equipment seems to be piled up too close in some areas. This causes people to take turns working out to avoid accidentally hitting each other.
Clean the floor and move machines on a regular basis. There’s a ton of dirt all over the workout / machine room.
Very few treadmills and small space. Feels tight with weights right behind you when you are walking. Very hard to get into classes due to small group room.
I just wish there were a little more machine variety/ bigger facility.
I would be nice to have a sunna after a good workout
Staff friendly & appreciate the notices about changes in classes or instructors
Mainly the variety of classes offer for seniors. Your staff goes above and beyond to help us in classes or at the counter.
The YMCA provides a safe and encouraging environment for older members to make friendships while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Encourage members to CLEAN UP after themselves when done with using the equipment - this is just nasty. Also, please have members stop throwing weights - this is not allowed in most gyms and extremely loud.
It’s nothing you can do about and totally understandable, but we joined to have a place to play basketball for training purposes and the courts are always taken w youth sports during the evenings. So it has not really been worth it for us. Other than that the place is great. It’s just not meeting the needs we have which can be frustrating. And the Cibolo Y doesn’t use the APP to show when the gym is open or not so we have to call which I’m sure is annoying for the desk staff.
staff are very friendly and helpful. equipment and facility is in great condition and great programs.
Love coming here
There are coaches that have the best kids from other teams play with their team mid-season just to stack their team (and boost their ego) even though they are not on the roster. Sports director allows kids to play on multiple teams within the same age division even though it’s against the YMCA bylaws. Coaches yell at the kids on opposing teams during games that they can not dribble in an attempt to to throw them off mentally. When trying to bring up concerns, the sports director avoids all interactions by hiding in his office and not returning emails.
We love the Y, but often we will show up to first practice and either our team or another team has no coach. I understand people need to volunteer, but I also think that the Y should have someone available to coach if no one volunteers, so players and parents aren't left wondering what's going to happen to the team without a coach. Since parents pay the Y for their kids to play, the Y should assist with a coach if no parents should volunteer.
The gym at the elementary school is not a proper gym for the kids to learn basketball. If it’s not going to be in a real gym at the actual YMCA or equal, we will go elsewhere.
I guess it's a case of you get what you pay for. I realize that the sports are very reasonably priced for a good reason. Our coaching experience has left a lot to be desired. My child has had 3 coaches. The first one was just a parent who stepped up at the last minute, so that wasn't a great experience - but she was able to play because that parent stepped up, so that was good. The next coach wasn't there half the time, and when she was there, she didn't really give the girls the feedback they needed - positive or negative. Her last coach was excellent. If we play again, we hope she is coaching so we can request her.
Very rude and inconsistent referees for volleyball.
I love the classes, equipment, child care
