Professionalism of the staff has declined

Asked for and received a high and tight (high fade). No missed hairs anywhere. Its been 30+ years since anybody showed that level of attention.

Had a buzz cut for almost 2 years, wanted to start growing my hair out. Barber was very impatient when I was trying to explain what I want (less than 1 sentence long), and cut me off before I could finish: “i just asked for the numbers (of the guard to use)”. I wanted a 1-3 on the sides and back, and leave the top untouched. Since he cut me off, he didn’t hear the last part and did a 3 on the top before I could stop him, erasing over 2 months of trying to let the top grow out. He was obviously in a rush, not gentle, and just seemed in a bad mood. The second question he asked, brusquely, was “I just need the answer, not an explanation, but how high do you want the 1 to go up the side”. I’ve been cutting my own hair for 2 years, got a promotion and wanted a nice cut, and was extremely disappointed. Before my buzz cut I was a Floyd’s customer for 5 years, and was planning on going back monthly, and I won’t be back because of him. It is not the customers fault he obviously hates his job/life.

Nice store, nice people -- but you are priced too high, especially for something as a simple as a single-level buzz cut. $30? Hard to justify when I can get the same cut for $10 less at some of your competitors.

Pricing high for retirees

Chuck is a great barber. Excellent scheduling.

My boyfriend only ever uses Great Clips. He doesn't have a favorite stylist or anything. He thinks "a haircut is a haircut". For his birthday, I wanted to broaden his experience and treat him to a haircut and beard trim at Floyd's. Ultimately showing him the potential of a "good" haircut. I had never been into a Floyd's before, but know of friends and colleagues that do. I went in person, prior to making an appointment and explained this to Sarah at the front desk. Sarah is awesome. She understood exactly what I was hoping for in this appointment. We had a thorough conversation and she ultimately recommended Brandi and explained why. Great! I anticipated some resistance from my frugal boyfriend but felt confident that he would be in good hands and have an eye opening experience. The morning of the appointment, I received a text that Brandi wouldn't be available. I was bummed but later decided to drop by to see about an alternative. I brought my boyfriend in, assuring him this was going to be an awesome haircut and he'd understand my stance with breaking up with Great Clips. He said the visit was very pleasant, start to finish. He had never had anyone shape up and trim his beard before. He usually doesn't himself. I acted excited for him, but I was hiding my disappointment! I could tell some of cut wasn't even, there was no big "wow" factor at the end. The sides and back seem a little long to me… part of the conversation I had with Sarah was he needed to maintain a professional cut but I hoped to bring him into this century a bit. I just didn't see it. Later, while feeling his neck, I noticed distinct areas that had been missed. Again, everyone we interacted with was lovely. But I know I wasn't able to persuade him to change.
