Sitting area and concrete should be cleaned better and more often

Jasmin and her aquatics team are amazing, caring, super friendly and do such an wonderful job. My granddaughter just loves going to her swim lessons and she is doing so well.

About half of our swim lessons in the last session started 7-10 minutes late. With having 4 in a group and already only getting about 10 minutes of 1:1 time with the instructor if they got in the water on time, lessening that by a quarter of the time shortens my child's (and everyone else's) ability to learn more about water safety. If a student in the group shows up late, that's on them. The whole group shouldn't have to wait.

This was our first experience with our almost 2 year old. The instructors were fantastic, facility fantastic....we loved it...especially our child. We will continue classes as our schedule allows.

It would be nice to get a free time after class to swim and explore around the pool.

There are never enough openings, they are full with members before registration even opens to non-members. Would be amazing if more sessions could be added so there was a chance! I am going to have to sign my child up elsewhere, even though my first choice would be the Y.

My 5 year old is in a level 3 class and most weeks, they spend half of the lesson standing in a little fenced in area rather than swimming. The goals for his age-group are great, but how are they going to achieve them if they hardly practice swimming?

So many things! Especially the quality for the cost. It's a beautiful space and the staff is always kind.

On multiple occasions, the schedule posted on the website was incorrect. We showed up with our 3 year old to swim and were told the pool was closed for high school swim practice or a meet. The website needs to be 100% updated and correct -- using Facebook or printed flyers is not acceptable. Furthermore, when attempting to enroll our child in swim lessons at the Gretna YMCA, we were disappointed to see there was only 1 sessions of 5 kids for his age/level. This seems insufficient considering the amount of families in Gretna and the popularity of this YMCA. When I signed in (at 4:50 a.m.) to register, the website gave me an error when I logged in. By the time I was able to sign in, the 5 spots had been taken. I have sent 2 emails to the coordinator (Jasmin Samano) and never received a response. We ended up signing up for swim lessons at a different location. Overall, the pool itself is wonderful. The staff and lifeguards are friendly and facilities are clean. I'm just disappointed in the website/communication and the lack of offerings for swim lessons for an area with so many families.

My girls really enjoyed swim lessons and the instructors did great connecting and teaching them.

More designated lap swim time and lap swim lanes throughout the week. Would be nice to have 8 lanes at a time at some points.

My instructor, Cara, was amazing, patient, and caring. She was really invested in teaching and when one method didn't work she tried other methods. Her tactics felt personalized for me during each class. It wasn't a one size fits all approach.

Trying to reach anyone with questions about swimming sessions is impossible.

Instructors were great with my kiddo. Fun and the ratio to instructor to kid made me feel safe. Safe guards were very in tuned with watching the kids carefully and not distracted at all.

My daughter is in the adult-tot class. I just feel like the instructors of the class could do a better job of conducting it more like a class and actually demonstrating the skills they are trying to teach. They just kinda assume we know what to do and don't do a great job of coming around to each kid to ensure they are mastering the skills. They kinda hang off to the side and don't interact with the parents and students even if they see us doing it wrong. This is my daughter's second time taking it because she's still under 3. I've had 2 other children in this class as well so I am familiar with the activities and skills they teach but I mostly writing this for the 1st time parents where this is their first taste of swimming lessons at Gretna Y. I have had very good/involved instructors in the past, I'm not sure if they are just young and don't feel comfortable teaching adults. I'm not sure but I wanted to let you know my experience this year.
