Love YMCA sports!

Easy process and great experience for the kids.

The coach is great. A little confusion on field locations but the employee there was very nice.

This was very unorganized and the parents that signed their kids up were not involved, didn't respond to communication, and only showed up sporadically. I also only had 7 kids on a 5 person team where 2/3 games so far we only had 4 kids. Other teams had 10+ kids on a team.

Scheduling conflicts. I still don't receive any emails regarding schedule and because of that my child missed the picture day. Practices were missed the first week and times were absolutely absurd for 1st graders…scheduled until 9pm on a school night.

My only request is to add 'days preferred for practic' when we sign kids up. Ie - which nights of the week work best for practice. Kids are so busy with activities and there's some nights that just won't work. It'd be nice for the coaches to pick their night of practice and then the kids can be placed into the teams accordingly rather than having to shuffle around after the fact a week before the first practice. I think this use to be on the sign up forms, but I can't recall. That's my only request everything else is great.

Have a restroom outside for families to access during games or allow families to use side door to exit after using indoor restroom

It's so hard to get coaches for flag football at the gretna ymca. We never had issues with the armbrust one and the coaches were fantastic there. Yes I'm fully aware it's volunteer but it seems Millard cared more about the coaches they got. It just seems to not be mature enough yet.

Not have tball played on an open field, especially after playing on the tball field first. Kids don't really learn the game the best way. It's not the same experience. That has been pretty disappointing, we play the majority of our tball games on an open grass field. Pretty sad with the amount of facilities Gretna now has.

The various days and times

The price seems a bit high for the amount of games/dates. More helmets and balls should be provided imo. Each of my kids teams had one helmet to share between both teams as well as maybe one or two balls to share. Kids would hit and run to first, then would have to give the helmet to the next hitter. Leaving them to run the bases without a hemet. Understood that we can bring our own helmets, but helmets should be made available to 4-6 six year olds.

It is very convenient to have so close to our home. It is easy to get to activities and games!

My child participated in 3/4 year old youth soccer in fall 2024, and that experience was a lot more enjoyable overall. At this age, I want my child to work on basic skill development (e.g. kicking the ball, avoiding use of hands) and how to be a good teammate. The whole experience seemed quite disorganized without clear expectations. When we played in the fall, we routinely put 3-4 kids on the field at a time so the kids could practice taking turns and get breaks as they needed it. This allowed the "game" to remain somewhat productive as the kids on the field were engaged. This spring, our coach threw everyone on the field at all times and the kids just ran on/off the field as they wished -- which isn't how I want my kid to learn to function. I am now undecided as to if we will give soccer another try through the YMCA or seek alternative opportunities.

Affordable and perfect for younger kids who haven't figured out what sport they really like.

Very organized, great coaches and refs

It's a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals and gives them an Opportunity to learn and try different sports without getting too costly. Your facility is gorgeous and has something for all skill levels in the gym. All your employees are friendly and always smiling and willing to assist. We've been members for a couple years but this will be our first year being members of the Gretna YMCA pool and we can't wait!

The Coach is amazing. He has definitely instilled the love of soccer and made it fun while teaching the basics.

Great environment for learning

Soccer program was great for my kid.

It was pretty chaotic. Granted, it was 5 and 6 year olds playing soccer... the field was always wet, and pretty beat up. There wasn't a lot of guidance, different coaches had slightly different rules just all around chaotic.

4 and 5 yr old girls should not be playing against boys in sports but this happens to be soccer. Only if we have a coed team but the tra. We played lastsatqerwholdi g shoving and pushing girls to the ground. Only after1 girl pushed a boy back did the parents get upset. This was frustrating
