The locker room could use some upgrading; waste cans in changing rooms, paper towels - the floors are often wet and dirty and i do not want my feet touching them, so I wish there was paper toweling i could use. In that regard, disposable paper covers to line seats with as a barrier .
The staff is very nice . I appreciate the classes offered. I wish yoga class had a better environment than a huge cold gym with poor lighting
The Y offers so much- we are lucky to have!
Great place to workout. Friendly and helpful staff.
The E-Gym and variety of exercise equipment and program.
The facility is convenient, but in need of some deep cleaning and refurbishing. For example, the main stairway looks like it hasn't been swept in months.
The classes, friendliness, opportunities for seniors and cleanliness.
I like the variety the Y offers including equipment, classes, pool, etc. Unfortunately, I don’t see enough enforcement of the “cleaning the equipment after you exercise” rule being done.
Locker room sauna steam bath showers are disgusting
Maintenance and cleanliness should be improved.
The pool was nice but slide closed earlier than scheduled. We went into the teen center on a Friday evening at about 6:30ish. Said open until 7:30. The person had no idea where anything was. No slime, no games, no anything. We were told she doesn't usually work in there and they would be closing soon anyway. It was a total waste of time. She opened the frig to look for drinks, then closed it quickly saying it stinks like rotton milk. No popcorn, no.. anything. Very poorly handled. Thats too bad. Was not a wonderful experience. Shower was nice. Hot tub was broke no bubbles. Thank You
The child watch services are fantastic!
Closes at 9 pm and the schedule for spinning and group classes are not friendly for people that work full time .
Too many people now use equipment as furniture while they are glued to their phones....no one is monitoring this. Also, cardio equipment is getting trashed by kids who don't even know how to use the equipment...again....no one is monitoring this. I watched what I believe was a 7 year old on the treadmill....just pushing all sorts of buttons....clueless. Most of the ellipticals are unable to access menus such as Live TV. Spin bikes are massively outdated. And, lastly, I don't enjoy the smell of Marijuana while I am working out. I have been a member of the Fayetteville Y for almost 20 years....it has changed dramatically.
The class are wonderful and the people are great.
Pool/ locker room areas seems to break down a lot. Showers with mold, water fountains broken down.its discouraging.
I like the variety of people and activities.
It’s clean and friendly with lots of classes and a nice free weight area. I like the large mats to stretch on.
I really like the e connect workout.
Cost. Programs limited. Crowded
My son is attending Art Camp this week, and he LOVES it! All of the counselors are so kind and patient. You can tell that they really love working with kids. It’s scary sending a child with special needs to a camp, but I know he is safe and taken care of at the Art Camp.
Make sure people -especially the younger people-are wiping down the machines. No one enforces this and very few wipe them down after using. Signage doesn’t help
A lot of lockers need to be repaired and better configured to make it easy to dress/undress. Showers also frequently broken.
Group ex Room usually too cold. We naturally sweat while exercising. Let’s Conserve energy !
I’d also love to see a line dance group.
Allowing day passes with fees for family/ friends visiting out of town shouldn’t be a compromise on your policy for strong membership enrollment.
Wish I knew her name but she was very helpful and even wished me happy birthday. It was the women at the main entrance desk. I was new and had several questions and she guided me. Thanks! Facility is also big and plenty to do.
Staff is wonderful and knowledgeable .great classes.
I really like the variety of group classes and sports you offer, including the pool and arts programs. It allows me to change up my workouts, so I don't get bored or hit a plateau.
I also appreciate that it's such a friendly, family-oriented environment. And I especially love that you included the topic of perimenopause. I truly believe it can help and support many women.
Thank you for all your hard work!
Good exercise programs, knowledgeable staff, nice facilities
Reasonable monthly fee and welcoming environment.
So many great group exercise instructors!
The universal "locker room" is a shower stall in the middle of the pool area it is positively heinous in every way to make a parents life more difficult and less private. How dare you not provide a private place for a mother to shower her son and likewise a father to bath his daughter. This was our first and LAST time at this location. You should be ashamed of yourselves
I’ve been an employee at the Y for many years. Pre pandemic it was generally a tight ship. In the last 3-4 years I’ve seen too many changes that have affected the members and staff negatively. Communication is poor all the way from overall management to departments, teams and individuals. A recent example was when the class reservation system was down. Things that members were told (to do to reserve) never made it to Member Services. Website/app instructions told people they had to sign up in person. When I brought this to a managers attention I was told it had been remedied. It had not and remained up for a couple of days. There’s more, but I’m not hopeful enough to continue offering feedback. I would suggest looking at the data - how many members, who attended Aquatics classes for years and years have stopped coming to the Y? Why have no new instructors been added for therapy poo classes in what, five years?
Friendly staff. Staff is helpful in answering questions regarding programs and classes.
The limited weekend hours are inconvenient, and especially the child watch hours make it very difficult to make it to the gym after work/dinner and have enough time to exercise by 7:30pm week nights and weekends are worse with no Sunday availability and 8 to 12 Saturdays. Working people need more coverage than that.
Continue to see inconsistencies between the posted lap lane schedule and what is actually open in the pool. On Sunday (8/3) I was there in the morning. The pool schedule showed 6 lanes open for lap swimming, all day. With near full occupancy (2 swimmers in each lane) for 4 of the lanes, the lifeguard decided to remove a lane line and make it 4 lanes of lap swimming only. There were only a couple of people standing in the pool that were not swimming laps. Then I proceeded to see a steady flow of swimmers arrive who then had to wait for a lane. All the while the lifeguard did not put the lane line back. Additionally, there was another guard on duty at the time that was sitting in the guard office with the lights off. Perhaps if there are two guards on duty one could open the therapy pool instead of sitting in a dark office. That way the people just wanting to stand in the water could use that pool and all 6 lanes could remain open.
Great work to maintain the lap pool without shutting down. If possible, extend the lap swimming hours to 9:00 or 10:00pm so more flexible for those working from 8~5 every day.
The desk staff in the upstairs area could be a bit more attentive to the demands of keeping spray bottles and paper towels in good supply. I'm sorry that Sandy doesn't seem to be an employee any longer. Their have been equipment that has gone missing during this past summer and when I brought this to the attention of staff there answer was "things disappear all the time, and maybe they will surface again." (A four pound toss ball, one hand held grip for the universal machine.) THEY HAVEN'T.
Greatful
Because of my age I take the classes in the pool area. The therapy pool is too small to accommodate all those needing classes to help with arthritis. You do not have sufficient qualified instructors for lap pool exercise classes and nothing offered Wednesday or Friday.
Drinking fountains in the upper and lower strength room are very seldom clean. I bring my own water bottle and I'm a little hesitant to fill my bottles there. Floor will be mop but there's always dust bunnies underneath the machines at their feet, and under the dumbbell racks. Frequently I have to complain to the trainers in the morning because the paper towels are not filled from the night before. Most of us are in the habit of wiping the machines down properly when we're done using them but if there are no paper towels or if the spray bottles aren't there then we very well can't do it.
Clean. Well cared for equipment. Nice staff.
People are friendly. Meets all my needs
Classes and instructors are fun and professional and always encouraging.
We like everything about the ymca.
The lap lane options during free swim are great for me.
I have recommended several of my friends already. It is a clean facility and spacious, you don’t have to wait for equipment. The classes are just right for what I was looking for.
I like the variety of group exercise classes
The facility has top quality instructors and trainers and is far cleaner than most large gyms
Great place with great atmosphere
Is a good place to get a good workout done.
I love the egym and the hot tub. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Too crowded. Still people on machines just sitting there looking at their phones. Ask them if they're done and each answers they are resting between sets - 5 minutes later. Lets ban phones.
Please go back to the bands for therapy pool classes. Unless you are anxiously waiting for the clock to tick 8:00 am on a Friday you don’t get into any of the classes for the following week!
