The pool with hot tub and sauna is wonderful. Very friendly staff

The pool and the family pool are not available for people with normal subscriptions most of the time. Couple of years ago, atleast 1 or 2 rows of the pool was available for everyone and remaining were reserved for other scheduled programs. Nowadays, that’s not the case . So , there is no point of subscriptions.

The YMCA has a lot of programs to offer. Staff very proactive.

Well, I’m brand new to the Y. So far the staff has been friendly and helpful. Just started a group weight training class and so far so good!!!

The employees at the Y are super. They are warm and patient and friendly. The Y is always immaculate!

Excellent staff, excellent course offerings, excellent gym, excellent pool activities, wear your flip flops as the pool deck and bathroom floors are not as clean as you might expect

The Y has a lot to offer for a relatively low cost.

I visited the Hillsborough YMCA for a trial membership and was disappointed by my experience.

During the registration process, I was repeatedly questioned about whether I had previously been a member of the Princeton YMCA. I explained that I had been a member of the Princeton YMCA and understood that the trial visit could be denied if that affected my eligibility. I also indicated that, if necessary, we could simply leave.

What made the situation particularly frustrating was that staff appeared to be treating the Princeton YMCA as part of the Somerset County YMCA association. To my knowledge, the Princeton YMCA is part of the Mercer County YMCA association, not Somerset County, and I have never been a member of the Hillsborough YMCA.

Despite providing this information, I was left waiting for more than 5–10 minutes while staff attempted to verify details that did not appear relevant to my visit. As a prospective member visiting the facility for the first time, I expected a welcoming and efficient check-in process. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily interrogative and left me feeling as though I was being viewed with suspicion rather than treated as a potential member.

First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope the YMCA will review its procedures and staff training to ensure that prospective members receive a more welcoming, knowledgeable, and customer-friendly experience.

Update the schedule if things change, specifically the pool schedule if family swim is cancelled. We've shown up a few times to find it closed because there weren't enough lifeguards.

Given things can change last minute, would be nice if we could subscribe for updates for cancellations.

As other gyms have a refreshments area, I would like for that to be brought back. Therefore I would stay longer to take multiple classes, use the Gym, and the machines and or treadmill. Need more space to sit, in between Exercise, pool or classes.

The summer becomes a problem for adults taking water aerobics. Our normal 10:00 class is changed to 9:00 for the children's class. If the adults would like to swim laps after their class, they can't because the children come in. Our locker room time is very limited because of the children.The adults feel like they don't count, only the children are accommodated. We are paying members.

Hillsborough YMCA is an outstanding facility with an exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff that always makes us look forward to our visits. The state-of-the-art gymnasium and beautifully maintained pool are especially impressive and continue to be major highlights for us.

I am a member of a YMCA in Prescott, Arizona visiting family in New Jersey, but I felt like a member of the Hillsborough YMCA because your staff was so welcoming. Mariah was especially friendly and I appreciated that very much. If I lived in New Jersey, I would join myself and tell all my friends to join. Your facility is very clean and your equipment is up to date. Excellent job!

Poor customer service; slow and incompetent front-desk staff at the Hillsborough branch

It used to be very enjoyable, small town & homey. Now, It’s become too crowded, your parking lot needs major repairs. There are no clear signs for correct driving directions. People go in and out the wrong way and there’s just too many inconsiderate people. And that’s just the outside. I miss the cubby’s and wall hooks. No I don’t want to always have to get a locker.

The monthly rates keep going up every year. This is really cutting into budgets. Can the monthly rates be kept stable at least every 5 years?

I wish there were some more machines since everytime
I go, someone is on machine I need to use and they sit on their phones for long periods Of Time, I end up Having to
Leave and not get to use the machine because it’s monopolized for so long.

The Hillsborough Y is great! Everyone is very nice, the facility is clean and the programs are wonderful.

Being a member of the YMCA has been a joy for me, I moved her 6 years ago and the Y gave me people who became my friends I recommend the Y to everyone it feels like home

I only use the pool and hot tub.
I would like to see the pool deck cleaned and squeezed during operating hours. It can get pretty gross at times.

Facilities are very comprehensive and kept clean. The staff is very friendly and competant. They have been very helpful and supportive in my rehab. I have regained most of my mobility and the Y's part in this was considerable

The Hillsborough shop has very friendly staff that greet you when you go in and when you leave

I told you many times. there are just few benches for so many locker. The sauna room had been broken for many months. First you denied that there was a problem. Then we were told that you had ordered a part to fix it. Two weeks later we were told that you had been waiting to hear from the manufaccture. Then 3 week later it was fixed. It took you more than 5 months to fix it. And we were confused by your varying responses. How could you treat us like this?

Parking enter and exit not beyond often (safety concern). Basketball courts are not well maintained.
Staff however is very professional and very friendly.
Equipment is well maintained and cleaned.

WONDERFUL FRONT DESK STAFF. Pool staff is attentive and friendly. Locker room is spacious and always very clean. Highly recommend the Y for swimming and workouts. Great place!

I walk with a cane, and it's difficult for me to use the regular shower stalls. However, the handicapped stall is often used by women who are not handicapped. I have asked that signs be placed in the handicapped stall to remind everyone that this stall is only to be used by the handicapped, and not by selfish people who want to shower in a larger stall.

Close by and has all the equipment I want. Is more expensive than Planet Fitness but they do not have a pool. Pool in YMCA always seems a bit dirty and needs to be cleaned more often.
