Update some of the weight machines or at least keep the repair up
I attend silver sneakers on Monday and Wednesday, good exercising and great people there. My new favorite thing is chair dancing on Friday with Becky.
I think it is a great facility. It sometimes takes a long time to get the "out of order" equipment fixed, but that is my only complaint. The staff are welcoming and friendly and helpful.
The staff is great! But the overall building needs an update. Pool ceiling is falling apart walls looks like mildew on it. Gym is pretty good and the equipment is super
I go to classes 3 days a week and they really are making a difference -- I'm stronger, and doing that exercise means I sleep through the night which is a big deal at my age. And the other people that attend the classes are great -- friendly and welcoming and helpful -- I will continue coming, hopefully for years!
Everyone at the Maple Street Y is very friendly & helpful. Vivian has helped me start my fitness journey, at times she has more confidence in me than I do. I will continue to try new programs.
This location is the simply the best , along with the downtown location too .
There is something for every level of fitness. I love the morning senior classes. Good time to workout a bit and for social interactions. I also supplement morning classes for weight machines, especially for my legs as they have been losing strength as I age. They do provide all equipment needed for the senior classes.
I do wish they could hire another yoga person to teach an additional class during the week besides Thursday mornings with Molly.
I enjoy the group exercise classes at the Maple Street YMCA. The instructors are great and the rest of the staff are courteous and friendly.
It seems comfortable and open. I like my choice. The facility seems to be recommendable.
great sense of community; love the way the weight room is set up!
It is high time that the group exercise room on the second floor, studio B, got a deep clean. The floor is filthy and the shelves that the weights are racked on is full of months of dust. Additionally, more dumbells would be welcomed in that room. Sometimes we run out of the heavier ones that are available (10 lb, 12.5lb etc.)
Program is wonderful for providing kids ability to play and socialize. Registration is also easy. This last season notifications and info came with pretty short notice so having information ready a couple weeks in advance could help parents better prepare (like equipment needed, schedules). The parking tends to be difficult as well often ending up having to find spots in the overflow lot on the other side of the Y or within the adjoining neighborhood.
My kids didnt have a good experience. One of the kids did the middle finger to my son and heard kids saying bad words. My daughter also one day she brought lunch from home and she was not given the camp lunch which we paid for and she should receive even if she has lunch from home. She forgot her water bottle for 1 day, the next day we couldn’t find it. One of the kids put chewed gum in my son’s backpack. Overall, very bad experience and i told all my friends never put their kids there.
Great facility and classes. Spotless environment. Welcoming staff.
organization
Lack of efficient support during games at the Y. Poor refs and umpires. Sometimes our child’s teams have been too small and consistently required extra players from opposing teams which ruins the game. Signing up for 5/6th grade girls soccer at MAPLE STREET YMCA but consistently playing games in Gretna or signing up for MAPLE STREET YMCA basketball 5/6th grade girls and playing in IOWA. The Y has some much to offer families, but if you aren’t going to disclose that games will be played ACROSS town and neighboring states, don’t expect families to continue playing o support the YMCA youth sports.
While the actual team is great, the communication from leadership and management is lacking. I spent more time talking to other parents on the player app trying to figure out what was going on because the responses were quicker and more uniform. I have yet to get a response from leadership about several miscommunications regarding coaches and expectations for practice
This year has not been as good as years past. There doesn't seem to be as many activities or games the kids are doing and they are watching movies multiple times as week. My daughter seems to be bored and says they do a lot of coloring pages. I wish there were more planned activities they were doing to keep them active
My grandson has only attended one week, but the activities did not really correspond to the advertised theme of the week. Please try to correlate activities to the theme. Not everyone attends all weeks and some weeks are chosen specifically because of their theme. Very grateful that the swimming pool worked the week my grandson attended. We appreciate the Y camp. All staff have been very nice and considerate. Thank you!
Committed instructors!!
One of the Best YMCA. Keep it up thank you.
I find that Maple Street Y is frequently out of supplies
Fantastic childcare
You are treated like family. And that’s a good thing.
