Cleanest facility I am happy to visit. Very friendly and uplifting staff.

I like that the Y is well equipped w/ well kept equipment. I do wish there were more staff personnel on the floor so i coild ask questions about the equipment and that oeop,e would not ket their children run around playing on the equipment.

The coach Emily, for the 9u soccer team is the eorst I've ever dealt with. It's not necessarily ymca potranco that I have a problem with, but her. And unfortunately she ruins it for the facility. She has her son on the team and only lets him be the main player so that we can win games. She's only interested in having her son win games instead of giving each child a fair shot at playing and participating. I didn't pay money for my child to just sit on a bench and watch the coaches son play every game.

We don’t even go to this location and I don’t know why we are on this list. I’ve unsubscribed multiple times.

It's a great place for a family to go to together and improve mentally, physically, and spiritually.

My son was put in a team with no coach and staff were practically forcing us to be a coach. A parent finally stepped up on the 3rd week. I think this should've been sorted out before the season. I see other teams and they are better structured than ours and I don't understand why the team was not broken up and added to established teams prior to the start of the season if there was no coach available. I will probably try one more season to see if this was a one time thing but it's hard for me to recommend you guys at the moment.

I’m a fan of everything but field conditions. As a coach it’s aggravating having to shift what I can do and where due to ever-increasing sand areas on the football and soccer fields. Kids love the dirt… and play in it constantly, creating dust clouds and it’s a legitimate distractor to the kids.

I like that the facility is always clean. Workout machines are always available and the staff is professional, nice and courteous. Thank you for having classes for seniors. I enjoyed them so much.

you allow kids to pick the teams they play on, which aĺlows coaches to essentially stack their team. My son's team lost to such a team last weekend 11-0 - how can you call this fair and equitable? You need to stop allowing kids to pick their team so all teams are randomly chosen for fairness.

My son started 5-6 year old basketball. The balls are flat. They don’t have a designated game ball and last week they used one clock for 2 teams. Also water was spilled on the court and the staff showed no sense of urgency with regard to cleaning it to avoid Injury to the children. Bystanders cleaned up the spill.

The overall program is great. The only gripe is there are a few potholes need filled or fixing on the fields like in between field 1. Other than that...I believe you guys are doing a great job. Thank you.

The facilities at the Potranco gym seem not as clean. Or there's just something about that one gym that feels institutional and impersonal, and not clean.

The Y at Potranco is a wonderful place to go. There are plenty of activities to do.

No organization they seemed to over book the pool.
Would prioritize other members than those who are paying for the swimming classes.
Emailed and called multiple members of management regarding pool scheduling and never received a response.
Instructor had no knowledge how to teach and had no work etiquette.

I’ve been putting my teenage son in swim lessons, he loves them. My whole family has been able to find activities we each enjoy, basketball, swimming, exercise.

Stop people from talking on their cell phones while working out. Repair the gym equipment in a timely manner and convert the gym tvs to Bluetooth. We are in the USA stop your employees from talking in Spanish.

I joined the YMCA specifically for the aqua fitness classes and swimming for labs. I am utterly disappointed by the lack of classes that are offered for any aqua zumba, aqua combat or aqua fitness for this location. The class times that aew offered seriously do not work well for someone who has a long working day. You might want to consider offering classes maybe later in the evening as as well as the morning times. Please work on getting some more aqua instructors for more classes. The current schedule is pretty pathetic.

I have shared with many people about Potranco YMCA.

I was a part of May Portranco before and had to take a break but I always spoke highly of the helpful staff and the amenities at this location. The place is clean although at times there are days where it could use a little more especially with flu season coming.

The area was clean. Lots of equipment and space. Much better than my home YMCA in Schertz. The only issue I had while I was there was not being able to utilize WiFi.

Doesn’t make sense that the older someone is the membership price is higher.

Diversity of clients to include young, old, families, singles. Diversity of classes to include line dance, zumba, aqua, weights. Knowledgeable, professional and motivated instructors. Inez with Silver Sneakers is dearly appreciated.

Scholarship program for reduced pricing, pool hours are plentiful, family locker rooms. Clean and welcoming environment

It’s been a wonderful experience getting to know the teachers and attendees for both Boot Camp and Zumba!

Convenient location, friendly staff, a variety of events, programs and classes, as well as clean facility.

Te family restrooms are outdated and they’re not clean, the showers are dirty, the plastic curtains aren’t in good condition and I saw two man with no kids using the family restrooms

All of the activities

Went to this location for an inbody scan. I usually do these at the O.P Schnabel location. The staff member at the desk was not very welcoming and look slightly annoyed when I asked if someone could help me with my scan. He said that he would send someone over who came about 7-10 mins later. The man helping with the scan was discernibly upset when I ask to use the restroom before getting on the scale, I had been nervous about my results and forgotten to go. After I did the scan he told me to put on my shoes while he preceded to review my scan results printout. This made me uncomfortable as I feel that this is sensitive information that I don’t share freely with those who are not on a “need to know” basis. When I said thank you and reached for my sheet, he grunted acknowledgment and handed it to me as if annoyed/put out. Then I left the facility and I hope not to have to return.

The size

It's difficult to get into many SIlver Sneakers classes as they fill up very quickly. I would also like more water aerobics or exercise classes. Oh, and Adrian was late to the pool on Thurday.

I recently had an increase in the fees but learned that my income will be cut drastically by $600 in the near future. I don't qualify for assistance from the YMCA so I may have to in cuts to my own budget have to forego my membership. My friends are struggling in this economy so it doesn't make much sense to recommend it.

Needs a sauna. Group exercise for disabled teenagers+ somehow (ex; neurodivergents) just to get movement and out of the house

I used to love this location but they have removed Les Mills from the evening group ex line up. Body combat is only available Monday evening. And many of the options available during the day are virtual.

Aqua fit classes keep getting canceled and it would be nice to know why and if the class will be added in the future.

I was very disappointed with the quality of the swimming lessons for my 11 month old. There were no songs, no cute activities to make it fun, no special equipment we don't have at our HOA pool... I might as well teach him myself and then it would be free.
