In my experience, the Y has a wide array of opportunities for members to allow for better health in areas of interest.
Time is precious....Most of the male members in the fitness center are more interested in staring at their cell phone screens -- or being seen staring at their cell phone screens, while sitting on, or standing at the weight equipment, rather than using it. It's intimidating. Consequently, it causes other paying members, double the time -- or more, to complete their workouts, if at all.
More morning classes for adults I.e. tai chi, water coloring, etc
I love the classes!
It depends on what you're looking for. The price is good and included the indoor pools where available. The classes are great but can be hard to get into. The gyms are fairly well equipped but small and crowded. The etiquette of the patrons is not great. It's particularly frustrating that people feel no shame reserving two or three pieces of equipment at a time during busy hours, or stay on one machine or rack for the better part of an hour. Often there are multiple personal training sessions going on at busy times too, each hogging and hoarding equipment.
Variety of offerings.
The center is a lively place with lots of people coming and going.i like how the weight room eqt is organized. Taking my first class in years. Instructor encourages students and meets them where they are.
Very friendly and welcoming to all ages, just a great vibe
My kiddo likes the camp fine. Wish there was a bit more outside time and that kids that were friends could be in same group in consecutive weeks.
Too small space and too many people (especially in the weight room). People occupying/taking up the space/bench with their personal stuff so as to prevent others from using the equipment but no one is there. If I'm trying to use the equipment, some others around the equipment say "someone is using it." Then that someone comes back like 10~15 minutes later. There's no sign regulating such behaviors. Also, always some equipment/accessories missing in the weight room, like ropes, handles, or weight clamps. I need to bring my own always.
Convenient, lovely helpful employees and great classes.
Nice faculty. Good range of group exercise classes
Excellent facility and staff.
Office personnel and camp counselors
We unfortunately had a pretty bad experience. The directors were very kind but mishaps with staff changing room policies, pick up coordination, and my daughter saying she spent the whole day by herself, led me to pulling her from the camp. It’s too bad, but I would not sign up for this camp or recommend it to anyone.
We are having a great experience so far. Our son is becoming more confident in the water and comes home every day with a fantastic report on his day. The staff has been really helpful and communicative, and we feel like he is in great hands.
great staff
Great experience. Always clean.
Having more bikes and machines would help. There is always a wait and I have left in frustration. Also the no cell phone rule is never enforced and people talk loudly on their phones while sitting on the machines.
Lastly (as a senior myself) it seems somewhat discriminating to charge seniors more than anyone else because they are seniors and single when they are on a fixed income. Also I just returned from having to take some time off to find my bill now has gone up to $48 a month from $45. If I were part of a couple or a family plan there would.be a special plan with a lesser charge...this doesn't seem quite right.
Nothing
Amazing two week free trial
Wide range of classes, clean and modern facility, lovely staff
My daughter has been coming here for the past several years and I think what it does best is give the kids a place to play, swim and enjoy the summer without a lot of structure.
The staff doesn’t notice people talking on their phones in the gym or people scrolling on their phones or children using equipment incorrectly. They sit behind the podium without paying attention. Members have to be the ones who speak up or no one will.
Make sure there is soap in the showers.
