Lots of activities
I am a big fan of the Y. The E Gym is great and I love playing racquetball. I’m disappointed that we no longer have spin classes and we only have one racquetball court remaining.
Excellent staff. Very clean and well maintained.
Ellen was extremely helpful & patient.
Their staff is very friendly and I enjoyed my time there. Of course I’ll be recommended to anyone.
Staff is friendly.
The Y has so much to offer. But it would be nice if the locker rooms, most importantly the showers, were updated.
Nice pool and friendly staff
I asked management to bring one more Sport Fit machine to the North Y from either Fayetteville or the Baldwinsville Y because of how popular the machine is. Both locations have multiple Sport Fits. When I have visited both locations I never had to wait as the machines were not in use. I have had to wait numerous times at the North Y because it is so popular. I guess my request was not very urgent since it has been over six weeks I requested the additional machine and no change has taken place.
I love the Y but the kids blue room at this location with the climbing equipment/slide for the kids has not been properly cleaned in months. There is dust, dirt and stains on the carpet. Please take better care of your equipment. <3
The pool seemed warmer than at my usual Y. That was a very pleasant surprise! Everything was clean. Thanks for that
Cleanliness
The class I took was not run as smoothly or efficiently as other YMCAs in the area.
Always clean facilities, friendly staff.
The North Y is not as vast as the Baldwinsville Y and that suits me. The lap swimming pool is warmer. The members are friendlier in the locker room.
Great facility - clean, friendly, professional staff. A complete facility.
I love the water aerobic classses! Everyone is very friendly!
Would like to see the women's locker room updated at the North YMCA .
I would like to see spin classes begin again at the North Y. They were well attended and received. I would also like to see another racquetball court open up. Young people would like to play and having only one court is tough. A great sport that will be obsolete if it’s not promoted.
The YMCA is a great place for families and where I can avoid hearing the offensive music and talk I am used to hearing at other gyms.
I use this Y as I have friends made over many years. My issue is upkeep and maintenance. The quality of the upkeep and maintenance has fallen over the last few years. I understand that this is an older facility, yet money should be in the budget for critical unexpected repairs (pool heating regulation system, AC in the fitness center this summer)
And the locker rooms should be swept and cleaned daily. The shower floors are disgusting. The inside and outside of the lockers should be periodically cleaned.
The place has fallen to **** since Custodian Dan retired.
Staff is friendly. Facility in good shape, lockers are plastic big plus.
Good location. Decent hours. Good amenities. I wish there were more amenities like a cold plunge, sauna in men’s room, and a hot tub.
It has been very beneficial to my health as a senior citizen Dixie is a wonderful instructor. The people in the 2 classes I attend every week are friendly and have really helped me feel better about my situation. The exercises we do are terrific.
No matter when I call or who I speak to. They’re always wonderful and helpful on the phone.
The staff is knowledgeable & helpful wV8ith any concern I've had. I've had & continue to have success in the gym with the expert assisted guidance, especially with my my persoal trainer, Marc Audain. Each staff member greets & offers assistance to help in any way. It's a great way to get & stay in shape & feel you're part of a community. As I stated, each person I've encountered has made me feel successful.
Staff is excellent. Always pleasant, friendly and helpful!!! They all are very willing to go the extra mile!
The Y is a great place to exercise, meet new people and be part of a community.
Friendly people!
The showers are
Fix the Treadmills! Since the new machines have been installed, I have been complaining for months the TV portion of the machines that do not work correctly for the most part. Sometimes you cannot change channels. Sometimes only one channel will show. (ABC )Sometimes the Video flashes on and off. Sometimes changing to one channel takes you to a different channel. Sometimes the close captions do not show up. Sometimes a machine will be ok today but has problems the next day.
I know many individuals have complained about this. The staff have tried to fix this issue and they just cannot.
If the machines ares working correctly, I guess the issue might to be with the Internet Provider. Perhaps the Band Width cannot support the total number of users utilizing it.
The old machines never had these kind of issue and I just hope it can be rectified.
I wish there was more mat / floor space in the gym area. It makes it difficult to do mat or core workouts when there isn’t a ton of space.
steam room ,AC and heating system constantly broken and not working .Locker room showers used as toilets
Love the Y but not happy with cleaning of locker room ....See hair on floor and it's still there days later. Lockers are also grungy and it used to be spotless in there....
Frindly and safe
Relaxed. No knuckleheads!
My favorite part of my experience at the North Area Y is the friendliness of staff. I especially am grateful for Layla and Kevin. Layla always acknowledges me with a Hi followed by my first name. When I was out for 4 weeks with an injury she greeted me with concern that she had not seen me in a while. Whenever I see Kevin we always exchange friendly greetings and chat for a moment or two. Mark in the weight room always gives a fist bump when he sees me.
Love the swimming classes.
I have been doing personal training with Brittany and she is just fabulous!!
It would be nice to keep the temperature at 70 not at 66. It’s always cold, both Winter and Summer. Especially in the men’s locker room.
Always pleasant time coming to this program/ building
There is a sub named Tracy who very frequently does not show up when scheduled to teach classes. This has been going on for a long time. Last week she was scheduled to sub on Monday and canceled Monday am and then was scheduled to teach the Tuesday class at 6 am and did not show up. We end up sitting there waiting 15 minutes( because when she does show up she is usually late and then arrives without her shoes on and so we have to wait even longer). It’s very frustrating. Frankly, I do not know any employer that would continue to employ someone who does not bother to show up as many times as she has.
The men's basketball league is horrible. The scoreboard has so many
Coffee area and EGYM
I like the attitude of the place, especially the excercise leaders such as Dixie.
I like that there are lots of different classes for all different abilities
Your sports director Austin needs to listen to feedback from members and basketball
I go for the egym!
Pool is not scheduled for cleaning as frequently as Northwest where my Special Needs Son swims 3 days per week. We have had the ongoing problem of stomach issues that is directly related to the days he swims in the pool in Lpool. No one seems to understand the issue and tries to correct it as I feel it is discredited by the administration
The people both members and those employed are fantastic! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I have made very dear friends through the Y. Also the programs offered for active older adults are superior!!
