We loved the camp songs, crafts, and new and old friends. She loves her camp leaders!
I wanted to get better balance and stronger walking. I also wanted to start lifting weights, Christine has done this and everything I’ve asked her about to improve my life style she has done.
The Y is small and needs another way to track for people with mobility issues
Yes, I would highly recommend coming to the YMCA facility once I actually made myself go. I haven’t felt this good in years working out is amazing. Going to the pool is amazing playing basketball and walking around the track is all great. I would recommend it not only is there a true community there but when you’re there, you feel like you really do belong to something and you meet other people that want it better themselves
Safe, clean, friendly environment
Ragsdale YMCA is a nice and clean facility. The 2nd floor track is a great amenity. I was impressed to see that the new sauna is properly sanitized 4 times per day. Where other area YMCAs are lacking in overall sanitation and cleanliness,Ragsdale stands out for providing its members with a clean place to visit.
Clean facilities. Diversity of equipment. Hot sauna that is clean, well lit and doesn't smell.
Excellent Staff and overall facility
I like the wide variety of programming for seniors, as
well as the great staff.
All is good. Classes are scheduled a bit too tightly as exiting afterwards is congested by the participants in the next class.
Amiable counter staff are pleasant to encounter yet seem to be often preoccupied.
The theme and the activities that went along be with the theme. Field trip to HPU Planterium was fun as well.
Camp was canceled without notice.
The Ragsdale Y is a large, well I -maintained facility. It is very complete in offering multitudes of options, classes, and activities for all ages. The staff is excellent in every way, and the communication is always timely.
Customer service, the facility is clean; upkeep timely.
Can the temperature of the water in the pool be increased? If not is because of sanitation?
Over the last year or so the water temperature is uncomfortably cooler. I know I am more water temperature sensitive than many but now it is a common complaint with many participating in aqua fitness classes. Also, recently the atmosphere inside with pool area is noticeably cooler with less humidity which contributes to the cooler feeling of the water. I know there is a temperature range goal for multi-use pools but something has changed to make many long-time participants in these classes notice and voice complaints about the water temperature.
I think it would be beneficial to those contemplating joining a class to have the class name actually be more representative of what exercises happen in the class and how strenuous the class is. "Yoga" replaced the name of the "stretch, flex and flow" class and it is not at all a description of the class. While the class is not an aerobic exercise class, aside from 3 yoga poses that are run thru very quickly, the class is not yoga. Perhaps a description that includes balance exercises, stretching and muscle toning.
Also, it would be a plus if there was more variety in the exercises done, more use of a variety of equipment (noodles, gloves, dumbbells, water bells, smilies, kick boards) and if instructors gave more reminders about correct body position, what muscle group is being worked, and modifications to make the exercise easier, harder or to protect a tender joint.
The trainer, Christine, is wonderful and makes sure to personalize my training. If I am having trouble in a certain area, she adjusts my program to address that.
Need more fans in room with exercise equipment
We finally get a deep water instructor on Monday and Wednesday that is working hard for us. Catherine has greatly improved and is trying so hard. On the other hand, the Friday class with Sarah is hardly worth the time in going.
My son has been part of the adaptive swim lessons for 10 years. We miss former Aquarics Director Justine Intiso. We knew there were going to be some hiccups when she left. It seems like we’re getting to the point where they’re ironed out.
The instructors are great. Dimitri, like all of our instructors over the years, does a great job with my son.
Thank you for offering this program.
Everyone is just great! My son loves it! The staff is very helpful!!
Easy to register!
I have benefited from having a personal trainer.
The camp was chaotic and disorganized. The staff was abrupt and didn’t seem very knowledgeable about camp activities.
Dressing rooms, women, are old and not very user friendly for women. Showers are old and not much privacy.
Excellent workout, great instructor!
