It's fine. I don't really have any complaints.
I have only been a member for one week but I am very satisfied so far.
Install a steamroom like at Heartly Drive YMCA in High Point!!
Friendly staff and members. Neat and clean facility.
Love tai chi and yoga
I have been through 3 names changes of the 9:15 class but the program itself is always left to the instructor and inconsistent. Walking ( jogging ) back and forth for half the class ( warm-up and cool down ??) Is not well planned or something I need a class for. This class used to have more regular attendance. I am ambivalent about it and it does not provide the slower deliberate movements and pace implied in what is sold as a water Yoga class.
I used to give a much higher score but the pool experience is not as pleasant as it used to be. The water is too cold. I understand it is a multiuse pool but the temperature could be kept closer to the top of the range. And just as importantly the air temperature in the pool area is much cooler than it used to be and cool drafts blow onto the water surface from the doors and ceiling ventilation. I continue the aquatics program at Ragsdale only because of its close location and I have friends in the class. New people sometimes join the class but usually do not return.
With new/substitute counselors, it seems information about students is not relayed from those who work with the kids everyday. It appears that conversations that should be shared aren’t, resulting in misunderstandings and confusion for the child, parent & substitute. When a counselor who isn’t there everyday comes in and isn’t made aware of things that have previously been discussed and set in place, and that new counselor has the same or similar conversation again, makes the child think they did something wrong & the parent wonder why the conversation is being had again-when in fact it was a lack of communication between the adults. Having to spend time bringing a staff member up to speed when I come to pick up my child is not something I think I should be doing-I’m there to pick up & keep it moving. Nor should my child be put in a position that had been spoken on and decisions made to help keep her out of unwanted situations. Communication goes a long way in every aspect of life. Hopefully this will happen in the future.
I really like Water Yoga, I would like to see more formal instructions. Everyone has been in that class for a while and the instructors know that so if you're new you have to catch on instead of formal teaching. The instructors have been nice but no one made an effort to learn names of new students.
Way too many kids using the fitness machines. Very little privacy for the massage chair.
I love the instructors and exercise. I wish, however, that we had an "all access" or flexible option to attend at various times.
i love my Body Pump class! Bridget is the Bomb!! And all staff are always very helpful!
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Super supportive too!
Teacher is good! Maybe change up routine some!
The water is too cold most of the time.
Would like music with senior fitness class on Wednesdays. Or something to make it more interesting. The routine is fine but perhaps throwing bin a little more creativity would be good. Like chibatta (sp) or something. I like water fitness and will probably still participate. Nothing against the instructor.
Water and air in the pool area is to cold.
I haven’t fully enjoyed my membership at Ragsdale YMCA. Many members don’t sanitize the upstairs equipment, and items like the battle ropes are often left out, which can be unsafe for seniors using the walking track. The noise from the courts and after‑school program also makes the track less comfortable to use. I would appreciate more regular staff presence upstairs to help keep the area clean, safe, and well‑monitored.
Variety of classes opens early staff professional
I love the space I have when I am working out
We love it.
It’s a cute YMCA and the workers are friendly but they could definitely be friendlier. They don’t go above or beyond.
All of the counselors that work with the kids are super nice and make a great environment for the kids!
I like that there are 4 different classes. There is a class for everyone.
I love being in the water and making new friends while I exercise
I’ve had a very positive experience with Ragsdale YMCA Aquatics. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional, and I especially want to recognize Candace. She has been incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming, and she really stands out for the way she treats members. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service have made my experience even better. I truly appreciate her and would definitely recommend Ragsdale YMCA Aquatics to family and friends.
Clean, convenient facility, and kind and friendly staff. I love my water aerobics teachers!
Always clean and tidy. There are sometimes issues with guards at 5:30am M-F.
My kids were being picked on by lifeguards when I said something to them and ask them not to speak to the kids to talk to me because now it seems like they are being picked on I was told I was being I was intimidating the two male lifeguards and asked to leave been there plenty before and other ymca never had that experience i will not be going back
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, and the workout room is full of very good equipment.
I like the relax atmosphere and friendliness
I like the facilities and variety of equipment. I love the group fitness classes.
Very clear and friendly place!
Everyone is friendly, machines are newer, and the ymca is very clean
The facilities are clean and the machines are updated and work well. There is enough space for all members to enjoy their respective activities. The staff is friendly and very helpful, too.
Nice staff and helpful people organized clean
Variety of opportunities to take care of my body and maintain good health.
There is a nice modern fitnes room, the pool is not as chlorinated as some seem, and the people there are pleasant.
I attend group exercise classes and am very pleased with the variety. The Y has a positive and welcoming atmosphere and I really enjoy my time at the Y.
The pool should have the max number of lanes for lap swim during peak times. Around 5pm there are only 2 lanes available.
The basketball court nets are broken and the balls are not full with air.
Them basketball nets be tore up to shreds ðŸ˜
Poor coaching and communication.
I'm not sure about other YMCAs, but I love my Ragsdale YMCA! I love the tight community aspects and almost everyone I've encountered are nothing but kind people here!
Per usual with the YMCA, there are no coaches right up until the very first practice. Day of the first game, we haven't practiced or even met our coach or team. 10 minutes before the game, I am calling the Y because our kids don't have uniforms, nor do we even know what field we are on. We have tried baseball at this Y 2 times and both experiences were awful. I provided feedback and everyone was shocked to hear the negativity. I spoke with multiple parents at this last game and every single one of them said they also were not surprised with how bad this experience already is because of the Y. When I speak to parents at Pilot Elementary, every one also says they had a horrible experience with this Y. Our kids just want to play some casual sports but it seems impossible to find a good experience now.
I gave the score I did because the Tuesday class unstructured provides a very energized class with a variety of water aerobics devices used. The Thursday instructor has the music turned down so low you can't hear it. Perhaps she believe seniors can't handle a little volume. She's young and speaks to us in an infantile manor, when we're all older, seasoned women with high energy.
I really with there were strenuous, active morning classes. The bootcamps have been great, and I really want those to be a more common occurance
In previous years, this would have been a 10, but this year each and every game on the volleyball schedule for her league is scheduled for the Bryan YMCA. There are no home court games at Ragsdale. If the intent is balancing out leagues and games, it should at least be half-and-half between all age teams’ home courts at Ragsdale and the away courts at the Bryan YMCA. This is very disappointing and much less convenient than the schedules in years past. If there were a separate rating for our experiences with teams and coaches, it would be much higher. We have had fantastic experiences with the coaching staff and appreciate all their hard work.
Who ever is running soccer has no idea what they are doing. It's been so unorganized.
The water fitness class has improved my core strength and has helped my arthritis by keeping me flexible. I really enjoy the non-weightbearing exercises in the deep end of the pool.
The personal in charge does not listen to the coaches or parents when offering suggestions and he switches team names and practice days and times from the previous season when parents who volunteer their time to coach specifically ask for the same time and practice days. It's very frustrating and this is my last season coaching.
