I didn’t feel like it was terribly organized like other organizations we have played with. Also the fields were not great and they packed 3-4 games on a field at a time.
I enjoy the Sarpy County YMCA because the staff is very friendly, and it has been there for our family, through the years.
Our family has been associated with the YMCA soon after we moved to the Papillion area in 2000 . We began sports programs, when our four biological children were little. (Now our grandchildren participate! Our now grown children have even been coaches when their children were little )
We also adopted/guardianed four children from the foster care system, after our four biological children. The Summer Day Camp programs for our younger four, really helped me feel at ease to go to work each weekday, during the summer.
I was a person, ten years ago, that never wanted to go to the gym. Thank you to the Live Strong Program, because they helped me to get past the uncomfortable feeling of working out in front of others. Now, it doesn’t bother me to go. (Many of the participants from that program still stay in touch!)
After going to the YMCA around the same time each workout, I have become familiar with numerous people I encounter on a regular basis. (I even had one older person shout out “Where have you been?” when my schedule was adjusted due to helping a daughter with babysitting)
I also like how the machines are spread out a little bit. At some workout centers, the machines are way too close. (The towels are a nice bonus, as well) In addition, I like the EVOLT body scan machine. Each month, it is interesting to see what the machine tells me.
I hope you can see, by all the things I took the time to explain, I am very grateful for the Sarpy County YMCA. God bless.Jer. 29:11-13
The teacher.. was very kind to my daughter. My daughter has learned alot and enjoys going to her classes everyday.
Colby is an awesome teacher!
Great instructors, small classes, reasonable price
the location works well for my busy schedule, plus the time frame I'm there several of the machines are available
The staff is amazing and facilities are clean and well maintained. The aquatics instructors are so good and patient with the youngsters that are just getting used to the idea of swimming.
Front desk staff are unfriendly and the gym really needs some work. The pool is unavailable for adults that have full time jobs basically. I understand it’s family friendly but Jesus adults are the ones paying the fees. Get your **** together.
No swim instructions at all the entire program. Instructor just stood in the water staring at other activities taking place. Sad.
Very patient and calm instructors. Mostly one on one training.
Hands down best YMCA swim program we’ve been to!
We love the more concentrated 3 days in a row for 2 weeks swimming lessons!
Bigger kid play area for child watch is not satisfactory during summer months.
Recommendations: Cut down on the office space need via telework; offset schedules, better utilization of front desk area. Use the office space for bigger kid play area.
The lady who anwsered the phone in am of 7/28 is rude. But other than that we have not had any issues.
How can I recommend the Y when you won't even fix the air conditioning in the spin room? It's totally ridiculous.
Always feel welcomed. And ask for feedback.
It’s a friendly place, and there’s a feeling of community there.
Everyone is very nice and helpful. It’s always clean. Pleasant atmosphere
Great place to exercise
I like the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff and patrons. The equipment is always well maintained and ready for use.
I was there for a birthday party. I felt that the “deep water test” to be able to go off diving board wasn’t administered fairly. Birthday girl couldn’t climb out at pools edge but very clearly swam well enough to go under rope & up ladder. Should be equal for all - others that swam in outside lane were allowed to go up ladder.
Also disppointed in no towels. My home Y is Glenwood and I also go to Armbrust & 132 & Center. Always have towels
What keeps me coming back to Sarpy County YMCA is the people.
As an active older adult, I attend Silver Sneakers and low‑impact group classes. The instructors are friendly, helpful, energetic, and experienced — they make every class feel welcoming, challenging, and fun.
Group fitness! Love Katie W and Lindsay’s classes.
The womens bathroom has had a work order for a toilet for over a week. The toilet was full of crap and it smells like a barn in there. This should a 1-2 day fix. It is a health issue and an inconvenience issue. It has been han
I’ve enjoyed swimming laps in the pool at this location, but there aren’t robust buoys or hand paddles available to use. A bit of a bummer compared to other YMCAs in the area, but not a dealbreaker.
Close and meets my needs
Good facilities and staff
Great classes for seniors, several times to choose from.
Only used the pool and once in it is great. My only complaint as a handicap and walking in the water there is not enough handrail for the shallowness of entering. staff is great for assisting when asked
The gym is very clean and all the employees are very, very friendly
Great instructors and activities
I like the pool and friendly lifeguards..generous lap times
The Y has a wide variety of activities. I do water aerobics, as well as body pump and body combat. The classes are interesting and fun. Instructors do a good job of demonstrating and explaining the movements and exercises. You are never made to feel uncomfortable, if you are modifying or going at your own pace.
The campers stay involved and active
My son did not have fun as not many activities were done and there was a bully who he told his teacher about and nothing was done
We have had great experiences with both soccer and Tball through the YMCA! Everyone is very friendly.
My son
We have participated with soccer and now t-ball and swimming and the coaches, staff have been wonderful! It’s been a great experience exposing our kids to different sports.
The communication with the coach isn’t the best they don’t answer messages on player space. Maybe having a whats up group text along with player space would be helpful
Coach Gass and his team are very patient and kind with the kids!
Have all teacher wear a microphone to hear them.
Most of the Volunteer coaches are patient and kind
I was under the impression the games would be played at or near the ymca in papillon yet we had 4 of our 6 games out in Maple Street. I understand this is youth softball but the umpiring needs work; consistently forgetting the balls and strikes count or how many outs there were. Rules seem to vary each game
She came home happy amd excited each day. She enjoyed the activities, friends and whole experience. Happy kiddo=happy mama!
Really stinks that coaches must be parents. But, the parents coaching don’t get a discount. But the kids can’t play unless volunteers coach. For the premium we pay, the coach should get their child’s registration covered.
Keep up the hard work! You’re doing great.
Best instructors, front desk, equipment.
Members stay because they’re like family. ❤️ Coffee makes it comfortable too.
I signed up as a member so my grandson could go to the summer camp. The summer camp is not very exciting and he gets bored easily. As a member no one ever reached out to me to see if they could schedule a gym tutorial or welcome event.
Convenience. Great hours. Good variety of machines in weight room. Variety of classes for older people.
The camp is well-organized with some theme-related activities. Our child is especially excited to see friends every day. We love that he has screen-free play time.
Jean at the front desk is very pleasant every morning!
