Great swim instructors.
Swimming
My child's have swim class and like too much and the people in reception instructor and others very kind And nice I hope return soon
Everyone is attentive and caring
The staff is so helpful and supportive to families.
It has many thing for my family.
Swim lessons. There was an incident regarding swim lessons in the lap pool. My child is starting to advance in his swim lessons and needs the space to be able to stretch his reach enable to learn proper form. He can't do that in the leisure pool when there are 15 people in there. Also, when in the leisure pool, we are having to constantly stop due to other families interfering with the lessons. After four years of our kids having lessons at the Y, this is the first time we have had this issue. We will not have another swim lesson at the Y and we are debating on pulling our other child from the swim team due to the headaches with lessons.
Lizzie was a great instructor.
What I love most about the programs and activities here is how well they balance fitness, family, and fun.
The teacher is super nice but also very inexperienced. She jumps from legs, arms and breathing even though my baby (14months) clearly doesn't know what she's talking about. Maybe if he was older the experience might have been different. My baby used to love swimming prior to these classes and now it's a nightmare getting him in the water, to the point it's effecting bathtime and that was something my baby absolutely loved. On top of that there are no make up lessons. And overall I feel like this was not only a waste of time I feel like we took. A major step in the opposite direction.
Great instruction and very helpful
Friendly staff, great instructors, clean facilities.
Swimming lessons
Family friendly—serves all ages.
We enrolled our children in the swim lessons. Some instructors were better than others and while I believe the lessons were helpful initially and I appreciate that. Getting advanced through was a bit of a challenge depending on the instructor we had. Sometimes they did not keep the kids engaged enough. I know it's challenging with young kids, I just wanted to give some honest feedback. Overall, we are happy!
I feel safe there.
Affordability, instructors with good attitudes, consistent programming across the country
Time duration and infra faculties are good for swim lessons
Be more flexible. I mixed up the dates for my daughter's swimming lessons. Instead of rescheduling me for another session, so my money will not go to waste, I was told, "the YMCA will not conduct reschedules unless it is due to inclement or maintenance purposes." So from now on will take them somewhere else for their lessons. Other than that I have not had any issues
Poor communications for change of schedule. Things happen but when you have a large group expecting an event— a random email which may or may not be received is just poor business. A follow up phone call by the coaches would have resulted in the assurance that those customers involved are properly prepared for a change of schedule. It would have saved a lot of anguish on your customers' part.
The communication between each swim instructor. My child has had four different instructors and each time it's like starting over. Our goal is for our child to know how to swim, so each time we do a lesson we have to try and explain what the last instructor was doing. Keep the different levels of swim the same for the group and private lessons.
More programs for teen swimming such as pre swim club that goes past 12 yrs old
Really bad experience with the swim lessons
My kids loved their swim class! All 3 of them came out more confident in themselves and their ability to swim. The instructor was extremely patient and accommodating of my children. I greatly appreciate YMCA for having qualified personnel and reasonable pricing for my large family.
We love Layla and Mayah Cantrell's swimming Instructer. He was kind caring and firm when needed. He was in the water with the class and still was able to monitor their strokes. Bottom line the children appreciate him!! We thank God for such a wonderful person.
The customer service and all the activities that they offer and the price is not bad.
My kids progressed so well and fast with coach Kevin.
The swim instructors Ms. Rachel and Ms. Lizzy are great. My kids learned and progressed quickly. Ms. Lizzy was so patient with my 3 year old.
The flexible schedules and kind teachers.
Love the water aerobics programs. I took one session of swim lessons and had to withdraw from a second session due to my doctors concerns. However, I plan to return this fall. The staff are very helpful and polite.
They're open to the public and affordable.
Very organized, professional and kid friendly.
We've had a fantastic experience with the private swim lessons at YMCA. The instructors are great — very focused on the kids and incredibly helpful throughout the learning process. Our child has made noticeable progress and always looks forward to the next lesson. We are extremely happy and have recommend friends and family. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality swim instruction in a supportive environment!
I like the schedule availability
The first swim class was cancelled due to the weather. This was in a Saturday. I found out the following Saturday That a makeup class was completed that Monday. I wasn't contacted. When I called for a refund, I was given $12.50 back. I paid $100 for four weeks which I thought the refund should have been $25.00. Also, the persons teaching the class seemed inexperienced.
Swim lessons with Brian was excellent. Other instructors were great with kids.
Good Choice of programs and very nice facilities.
There has never been coordination between the aquatic center and the main office. We have often showed up for lessons to find out the pool is closed or that the swim schedule has been changed. Members have the right to know what is happening with in the YMCA and the main office should be up to date on everything associated with the YMCA. The aquatic center is not its own entity and if it is then it should be disassociated with the YMCA. In the past 4 years that we have been members, the aquatic center has always had poor communication with the main office. No coordination of class time and schedules, no rules. We expect better as members
Friendly, knowledgeable instructors. I like the tiered system for swim levels.
The swim lessons were great. Brian was very nice and really showed that he cared about the students in his class.
Swimming instructors are very professional and courteous.
I took the intermediate swim course at the Schertz YMCA. Most of the swimmers were students from the previous year. I wish that the instructor had tested our capabilities at the beginning of the course because we were at different swimming levels, which meant that we could not use the course to its maximum potential. I think that some swimmers were more advanced than others.
Private swim lessons Basketball court Gym
Organized, punctual, great coaches lifeguards. Gave weekly feedback. Excellent program.
They are engaging and entertaining
Compared to other swimming lessons, I felt like this class was more practical for my son's age and skill level.
Classes were small. Didn't feel pressured. Good learning enviroment
Enjoyed swimming program but wished more summer offerings available during the day at Schertz indoor pool.
The instructors are pleasant and the kids enjoy working with them. They offer encouragement.
Everyone was kind, professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. I saw my daughter build trust with her instructor and grow her skill immensely over the two week class. They helped her overcome her fears in ways she had never been able to before. It meant a lot to me, and she wants to move on to level 2 now!
