I like the friendly staff that have all the answers fory questions. Plus they take their time to answer my question be but I'm quite sure they've answered it many times be I asked my question. Great place to get healthy
It feels like family.
The facilities are outstanding, and so is the staff. We particularly like Jackie Wattenhofer
the latches in the men's locker room are vintage 1980's many don't work well and some don't work at all. TIme to invest a bit.
I really enjoy the group excecise classes. I support the Y community mission.
Better follow-up on the one-on-one sessions offered to new members.
Love the pool. Just wish I could swim Sunday afternoon. Because of my schedule I have to do Arm burst location Sunday afternoons @ 4. Once a journey have pool staff meetings
The facility is clean, the treadmills are awesome, the machines are easy to use, and the basketball court is generally open to play or shoot hoops on.
Fun and energizing group classes with excellent instructors. Lots of options for individualized workout plans, and gym hours that make it easy to schedule time for exercise.
It’s a second family!
Staff at the Southwest Ymca is very friendly and informative. They know what they’re doing and they make it a point to make you feel welcome when you show up I can speak to weekends and weekdays from 10 to 6. It has been the case. The facilities are maintained while occasional maintenance issues put a weight machine out of service. The elevator is another matter. Seems to be working now though.
I enjoy my visits to both the Maple and Southwest YMCA centers, but with classes changing or being cut, I do not visit the facilities as much as I used to. I love the 30-minute Group Fight class, which I hope you will keep. Thank you!
Southwest Y, is very welcoming. Great staff always answers questions, has helped me with weight equipment. Best class instructors that make classes challenging and fun!
Neat and clean with friendly staff from the desk up front and the weights area.
Excellent instructors. It’s the members who keep me coming back. They are so welcoming.
I have been doing personal training for better health, and greatly enjoying it!
Ambrust Y's gym (my regular) was unavailable due to a camp, so we came here. Susan welcomed us as soon as we walked in - she was personable and professional. We left after two hours of basketball - she chatted with us as we left and wished us well. She's a true asset to your facility! Please thank her for me and reward her in some way.
The facility is very nice but there is a lot of trash in the weeds along the parking lot. The Armburst YMCA has a designated cleaner that works both inside and outside. Granted, the SW YMCA is much bigger but that doesn’t prevent someone to walk the parking lot once a day to pick up trash.
Would LOVE an outdoor pool for YMCAs other than Gretna. Wichita YMCAs are a great model for this! So many businesses sponsoring the Ys there and great facilities.
The atmosphere is very non judgemental. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Love the group fitness classes.
great experience for the kids!
The coach is the issue. We get texts every week rescheduling or moving things or says we will reachedule then we never hear anything. No schedule, no consistency, poor communication. Wish we could get our money back but we just won't do another team here.
Great people, nice Y.
The youth sport director, very considerate and approachable. She's also very good with kids.
The league is great. Love the format, locations and officials. The season is too short. We will keep the ymca in mind but likely transition to other Recreational leagues with 8-10 week seasons.
I would be happy to pay more for a longer season.
Great fields this summer. 6 games a season is WAY TOO FEW. It does not give us enough time for us to coach the kids and allow them
To properly coach and teach the kids. Please revert to the 8 games. If it stays 6 me and the other moms I’ve spoken to will have to sign up
Elsewhere.
The classes and very helpful instructors. The remodeled ladies locker room is very nice
I wish there were more group fitness classes available in the evenings or on the weekends. I cannot take time off work during the day to participate in the currently offered classes.
The requirements for camp prep each day are a lot. Only camp we are attending that doesn't provide snack or lunch so with 2 kids in camp need to pack 2 lunches and 4 snacks each day--feels like we need double the groceries and meal planning.
More low impact activity classes - such as stretch and strength. Better instructors.
It depends on the person and the class they want to attend
The YMCA summer camp has been such a positive experience for my 11 year old daughter! I'm absolutely blown away by the staff and activities so far! My daughter was SO nervous that first morning, but it has been the best surprise ever! She loves going! She loves the friendships she's made! She loves her lead counselor, Kyle! She has had some pretty negative childcare experiences in the past, but this one has been truly remarkable! The activities are age-appropriate and the older kids are treated accordingly. The staff is very friendly! Thank you SO much for such a positive experience!
The summer program is fantastic for my girls! It’s well run and the counselors are very friendly.
Convenient and very reasonable.
Friendly staff, good equipment.
The knowledge of the instructors is amazing, the classes are fun, the people are great, and I get a great workout!
been going to this ymca for years, its older and not quite as clean as the other ymca's but still a very nice place to go, and everyone is always smiling, doing the best they can...., ...something you should think about, and i know jen, your supervisor, she is great, not all but why not rent a section of the lockers, rent them for a year or 6 months instead of paying every month something like that or rent them for 3 months, just a section, and not all the ymca's lockers... think about it, we older people especially in winter get tired of bringing in our work out clothes, every day, if a person only comes once a week he will not rent a locker anyway, it would be extra money for the ymca, and it would take a burden away from us.think about it, not all but just a section.make all the lockers the same price big or small, first come first serve.3 months at a time that way you dont have to pay someone to keep tab of the payers and none payers, after 3 months if lock is still on there and have not paid break the lock, put their stuff in a box, its not your responsibility.something reasonebale for price, look at how many ymca there is if you rent lets say a section of 50 lockers at $30 a quarter, times 50 lockers that is $1500 every quarter, that is $6000 a year now take that times how many ymca's there is ...if 50 is to much rent 40 or 30 i would have to look into each locker room to see how they are set up, now this is just the mens locker room, imagine if you did the same for the womens locker room, that is $12,000 dollars a year just in locker rent.they would have to have a sign these lockers rented some thing like that......just a thought
The classes are great but the locker room needs to be updated.
Water aerobics classes. Lots of other choices too. Need a more reliable elevator. Maintenance should be changing bulbs and lights in the pool. Have been out for months.
Would like to see cleaner women’s locker room and when the Aquatic classes going on it is hard to hear the instructor because children are yelling and screaming in there as the class is in session. Would like to see more aquatic classes in the middle of the day.
My kids are loving their time there! The activities have been very engaging and I love hearing what my kids loved about each day. There are two stand outs but the counselors have also been amazing!
Counselors are kind and genuinely care about the kids. Lots of fun activities and weekly themes, and extra swim lesson options. My 8 year old son loves it
Staff is friendly and very helpful. There’s a good variety of classes and machines depending on how you want to exercise.
I like the group classes.
The Y is ok! But if your an early bird and
Get your workout in and want a quick fast shower, well that’s not happening here!!
It took about 7 solid minutes before the shower ever got warm, what a waste of water.
Also it doesn’t open until 10:00 am on the weekend, as the other Omaha YMCA’s open at 7:00 on Sat and 8:00 am on Sunday !
Excellent but low impact exercise that's age appropriate. Taking classes for 13 years. Don't know what I would do without them.
We love the twin rivers summer camp. Great activities and great camp counselors. Our kids are having a blast this summer!
Everything was great. Very organized. Communication was perfect etc!
Terry is always so welcoming.
The child watch area was the best part (for me). So many things for my kids age 3 and 1 to do and the staff was so kind and helpful. My kids were so sad to have to leave! The wellness center had a pretty good spread of equipment. There were machines I'd like to have seen there but there was enough there for me to tweak my workout a bit and still get done what I needed to do.
