It’s close to my house, the group fitness classes are great. I wish they had a step class. But otherwise it’s great.
Best YMCA and pool class I’ve been too
The front desk staff is alway up beat. The aqua instructors are amazing (Kelly, Gretchen, and Marylou). It's very easy to feel at home even though getting up that early in the morning is a pain.
Nice facility that is kept clean, and machines are in working order. Friendly staff as well.
Great instructors!
Perhaps offer more classes in the evenings
I love the instructors. Sue does an excellant job in Low-impact circuit.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Access is easy. Location is perfect.
I mostly use the pool. Some additional signage in the lap lane area about rules and etiquette for the lap lanes would be a nice improvement. Also, ensuring that kids aren’t just playing in the lap lanes or crossing over would be nice. Not normally an issue, but on days where it is very full, this could help.
Also a text text message subscription or email update on pool hours would be appreciated. I know that it gets posted on Facebook but I don’t have a Facebook.
I like the equipment. But have a little disappointed in the classes and time for working people. The evening classes tend to be full and unable to get a spot, some of the classes felt unwelcoming
This is a nice, new facility. Very clean and spacious.
Group fitness classes are great and there is so much interest that it is hard to get a good workout in with 40+ people in a small room
The pool is constantly closed at random times. Sauna/steam room are hit and miss. Lot of younger people <18 filling the sauna. Weird policies like clips being required on the bar. Functional and clean though.
I like how welcoming and friendly Michelle is at the front desk. She greets everyone, many by name. She wishes people a good day as they leave. When she gathers and distributes towels, she encourages all she crosses pathed with every day. I wish all the desk people would be so positive and focused on customer service.
Jessa is also great!
Gretchen is a rock star and manages a giant Silver Sneakers class with focused activities each day. She gives individual attention and variety each day. She presents herself as a professional role model, switches up her playlist to match her plans. She pushes and stretches each individual to reach their highest potential. She puts pep in my step!
I do wish there were times when novice pickleball players could get time to practice and not irritate better players or get a ball smashed in their face.
I wish the new pool hours did not shorten from closing at 1 pm to noon. It is disappointing not to be able to swim laps after Silver Sneakers.
That being said, I credit Live Strong- Bailey, Elaine and Jessa with kick starting my journey back to strong and fit. I truly consider west View Y as a gift with cancer.
I think we should have a Y Staff Appriciation Day!
The staff is friendly. The teachers are great, the facility is lovely.
The facility is clean and machines well maintained.
The pools at twin rivers and westview constantly being closed is a bit of a bummer only because it seems to happen ALL the time. Otherwise I love the Y
This YMCA is clean and equipment is new or newer. Staff is friendly. The only issue I have is some of the members will CAMP on a piece of equipment. They will do a set. Take out their cell phone for 3 or 4 minutes then do another set…repeat. Some being on equipment for 20 minutes
Wish there was a walking track
You raised rates. Towels empty. I need to cancel my membership
Friendly staff, great classes, nice facilities
The Westview YMCA is a very nice facility, but honestly, the staff are the biggest reason our family continues to come here. Pool Director Tony, lifeguards Dempsey and Liam, and Ava at the front desk are all outstanding. They are friendly, welcoming, helpful, and make our family feel comfortable when we are there. Employees like them are a tremendous asset to the YMCA.
There are, however, a few areas where I think Westview could improve. The pool is consistently very cold, which can make swimming much less enjoyable. There also seems to be a lack of consistent enforcement of rules around the pool and other areas of the facility. At times, kids are allowed to behave however they want without much correction, which can take away from the experience for other families.
I would also love to see more evening exercise classes offered. For families and people who work during the day, the limited number of evening options makes it difficult to take advantage of the fitness classes included with membership.
Overall, the facility itself is very nice, but Tony, Dempsey, Liam, and Ava are what truly stand out to our family. They are the type of employees who make people want to keep coming back
I love the equipment in the gun and the pool is extremely nice. The amount of activities available for basketball, swimming, and weights is excellent.
Disappointed that the Friday AM yoga is no longer on the schedule. Also, would love to see options for Body Combat on Monday or Friday. Thank you
There is a big parking problem.
The facilities look clean. Member discounts on classes are nice.
I don't like how cold the pool is. It makes my kids lips turn blue.
I have been unsuccessful reaching out to Reggie Wright in Aquatics. I had questions about signing my children up for swim lessons. I've tried emailing him multiple times and I also left a voicemail. Other parents I have spoken to said this is typical and they haven't been successful contacting him other than when they are in the facility and he happens to be working that day. Jeff has been the only person who reached out to me to schedule a swim evaluation and help us figure out what we needed to sign up for in the future.
